Part 1/3 of my pediatrics clinical rotation involves 12 days straight on the pediatric hospitalist service. This has been one the more physically challenging stretches more than anything, but something about waking up to care for kids gives you a second wind...even if you do lose track of what day of the week it is.

Your persistence and ability to find the joy in small things is an inspiration! Thank you for being transparent about the process. It's helpful as I figure out being true to myself while crafting the application for medical school.
Omg ! I relate to so many things you said in this vlog .
1. Paeds is physically so tiring , I remembere not even having the energy to eat , I just use to crash my bed , but somehow I never felt mentally exhausted. I was always happy to get up and go next day .
2. Paeds is so nice, but atsm seeing some really sick kids , it just breaks your heart .
3. As a kid , I used to have lots of skin allergies , so I used to visit this one hospital and never in my wildest dreams , I would have imagined that I would go to the same hospital as a medstudent for some of my rotations!
Paeds is the most satisfying allied medicine field. If someone wanna do medicine with good prognosis they should definitely go for Paedratics
You brought up a great point. The adult section should be redecorated to feel like a happy place too. Maybe use scenes from nature. Patient rooms should be designed to feel like a bedroom or hotel room with a nice view. Well, the view may not be possible depending where the facility is located. With some minor changes, I bet patients would be happier and treat hospital employees much nicer. Hope you didn't sleep through the weekend after surviving 12 days straight.
Andy, how incredibly COOL that you are back where you started your dream, not many people do that!! I know those 12 days had to be brutal, and it not only physically wipes you out, but mentally zapâs you. Itâs been interesting getting to see your rotation and hear your thoughts on each, thank you!
everything comes back around in a full circle! the volunteer story you talked about really touched me:)
OMG. Your return to your adolescent site blew me away. Sorry for how tiring this has been. But, there are parents and grandparents who will entrust their loved one to your care. I'd guess they'll be making a good choice. Andy, thanks for this new video. It was moving.
This kind of journey is inspirational. I think Iâll save yours to rewatch it when I have a hard time going through my own đ
Your videos give so much insight into what Iâm going to see during M3 clinical rotations next year!
I'm on pediatrics right now too!! I've enjoyed outpatient a lot more than inpatient personally, but inpatient was still a very good learning experience!
love what you're doing keep it up đđđđ
You'll be great doctor bro!
†pediatrics is the best!
6:49 kind of looks like a green screen haha loved the vid Andy!
Great video! where do you get the pants from I want some too
Hey Andy I had a question what requirements do I need to join med school and is med school a college or do you need a college degree to apply to med school? Is there any activities you did in high school?
âđđshout out to the residents. I feel like I just left.â Oh man. If you only knew how real it gets. You would die at my first three years of general surgery hours. And Iâm not proud of it. 120hrs a week easy. We never left. It was a blur đ€Ș
im tryna get into a high school to Finaaly start my medical career im so exited and scared that i wont find the right high school
Bro, you a fuckin' real one. I stan you. BRB should be getting paid 600k a year. NGL deadass my guy, mad respect. I'm inspired to be a madlad like you.
Andy, you have inspired me to become a BSN,RN then work for 3-4 years then go get my DNP doctor of nursing practice in adult Gerontology acute care nurse practitioner because I donât want to be a doctor but want to be a provider of some kind
Do hospitalist family physician handle inpatient pediatrics cases? Or just internal medicine?
Pediatric hospitalists are usually pediatricians.
At least you didn't have to do 12 days on 2 days off twice over like the residents.
Why do surgeons always take the stairs?
i really dont get why does people liek such messed up lifeless lifestyle with competition 24/7
What do u mesn
