    The L’Oréal Age perfect has been my fav for a while now. I bought the charlotte’s beautiful skin new one a few weeks back and thought they looked similar so a few days I wore them half and half on my face and I think they’re so similar. NOT in formal, but in the way they look on my skin. But I do think L’Oréal wore a bit better for the long haul. But they were pretty similar.
    I have repurchased the L’Oréal 2x’s. That is how much I love it. I wear the same shade as you.

    • @Hat-trick2299

      @@ayceleijae if you’re talking about the L’Oréal one, I do not often wear a primer under it because it does look a little more heavy with a primer. Sometimes I do wear the elf poreless putty in my T or basically just my nose and cheeks coming off my nose. I use the super goop sunscreen and that is kind of my primer. I have dry skin, so it’s an extra layer of moisture for me. It usually lasts quite a long time even without a primer. I use the elf coconut setting spray and lightly press with my sponge. I do want to get the charlotte tilbury setting spray.

    @wendigo1919 Před 2 lety +6

    Hi Abbey, try using your sponge dry with the L'Oreal serum foundation. People forget that you can use sponges dry for very light-weight base products so the sponge doesn't absorb so much of the product. See what you think.

    The Loreal serum foundation is my favorite foundation. I have gone thru 2 bottles already (I hate the dropper though). Try using your fingers for application. I think this works the best for this formula.

    • @TamiThePinkHairedGirl
      @TamiThePinkHairedGirl Před 2 lety +2

      I agree. Applies beautifully with your fingers, and you also use less product that way, because it's not being absorbed by a sponge or brush. I think applying with fingers is what L'oreal actually recommends for this, too.

  • @conservativebarbiedoll589

    I just got the Age Perfect serum sunscreen and it’s gorgeous! I’m always looking for a tinted sunscreen since they’re easier to reapply throughout the day and this one is worth it and inexpensive for my 41 year old skin 😊

  • @tehmaimed
    @tehmaimed Před rokem +7

    1% HA is actually a lot, many skin care products that include it put less than 1%. If it's over 1%, the percentage is usually marketed heavily (e.g. TO's 2% HA Serum), so I get why they did that, considering it's more of a makeup product than a skincare one

    • @Ketchme17
      @Ketchme17 Před rokem

      Agreed. I do "diy" skincare products for my personal use and to use hyaluronic acid, you need an appropriate amount of water in the formula. If there is too much HA in the HA/water ratio, the texture can be too thick (HA thickens the water) and there is a point with HA that more is not always better.

    I have oily, acne-prone and allergy-prone skin, and until the loreal serum foundation, I had zero luck with drugstore foudnations or BB creams. I don't even set it with powder it still looks good at the end of the day even in hot humid summer weather which is a dream come true for me (I really don't care about looking matte, I like glowy looks much better, but this doesn't make me look SHINY shiny, it makes me look healthy and make ppl ask "are you sure you're 40?") 😄❣ I'm writing incase it helps someone who went thru what I went thru, people at places like Sephora always recommended mattefying products for me, I also tried to tame down the oils and the more I tried that, the worse my acne AND oilyness problem got. when I found the right moisturizers, serums, even oils, my skin healed 💖

But unfortunately this made my skin itch so much, then I did try it again a couple of weeks later and did the same again and ended up giving it to my friend who has this which she enjoys and at least it's not going to waste. Therefore I wouldn't purchase the Serum Foundation just incase it wouldn't agree with my skin either. Alcohol does not always equals bad
      Sometimes it's used so the product can absorb better and quicker into the skin, a small amount in product does not harm you, you still need to be careful if you have extremely sensitive skin but overall it is not bad as everybody claims it to be...

    When you said about why it is marketing so much about Hydrolanic Acid but only 1% that reminds me of some mascaras and their clams and then you loo at the fine print and they only took the results from 20-30 women.

    I would definitely use fingers for serum foundations. They sink in better.

    I believe 2% is a higher amount of HA, most products contain 1-1.5%

    Thank you so much for this helpful video. Currently I use Wet n Wild tinted moisturizer, Essence hydro hero and L’Oréal age perfect. I love them all but I was curious how different age perfect will be from the newer serum foundation

    I can't get that hydromaniac one to work for me at all! It feels sooo nice going on almost cooling and fresh but in just an hr I'm very dewy and I do lean oily, so in a few hrs I'm ready to wash it all off! W and w/o primer powder ect.. I'm trying to find a dupe for the Becca Skin Love!!

    I would love to know if any of these tinted serums/foundations help with white cast from sunscreen. (Mixing the sunscreen with tinted serum vs applying over top) As a pale gal, tinted sunscreens are almost always too dark for me!

      I have tried it, I have dry skin am in my 40's and I found it to look to drying on me. It wasn't horrible but I have other things I like better. Also found the color selection was kind of hard to get the right shade.
