Thanks you are one of the most underrated ppl on you
thanks! practicing a lot at the moment trying to improve!
Carl Wehden am a tenor and am new subbie, btw after C4 I can't hold a note for long and it lacks resonance what am I suppose to do? And am tryna bring my head voice a few notes lower is possible,I wanna take it from E4 to somewhere around G3......plsssss respond! :)
Cutie Zalbu What you're searching for ultimately is a sense of freedom and looseness on every pitch, when you feel like you're 'holding on' chances are you're not quite in the right coordination. Most people get confused with the concept of chest and head, I find it easier to just think of one voice from bottom to top, remember to always focus on freedom first, the rest will follow.
Carl Wehden thanks and what u said is 💯 true,I get confused with all headvoice and stuff
I find if I narrow just a bit "mentally" towards "gih" I slot in nicely.
yer 'ih' really helps keep the cords together in head, great tip!
I too have trouble finding this nay sound and it is not good to start our day with this heavy sound so you are right light sounds are more helpful and yes !! everyday we have to start from the scratch pfff ..informative video Carl and I love that painting.
Richa Sharma Nay can be a pretty balanced place to start a lot of people get way too heavy with it but it's ideally a medium compression level if done right
+Carl Wehden yes balanced compression is the key and it does wonders but I have one doubt I have seen Brett's SS videos and in those this nay exercise looks highly compressed also the students are asked to make it as nasally as possible and they sound so loud and sometimes strained too.
Richa Sharma you could approach it different ways it's not really do much about being right or wrong, I'm just saying it can be on various compression levels, beginners tend to go over board
+Carl Wehden definitely ..infact light sound is hard to balance and it is of advance level.
This was a very helpful video, but i have a question. I'm a girl and i have a good head voice but I can never sing in chest voice or mix voice, I never know if I'm actually singing chest voice or not, I know this doesn't make much sense but i really appreciate if you answered it or made a video on it. Thankyou!
You have to learn to hold the cords together a little more firmly and move through your range to get into chest and mix voice, most people talk in chest so that's normally a good starting point. You can learn this in many different ways but it takes time for most people to understand exactly what needs to happen to sing higher without losing compression and it sounding 'heady' rather than full. 'Gug' and 'Buh' are the basic starting exercises for learning to compress through the bridges.
Ok thankyou!!!
Are you switching to head voice? Or is that light chest?
It's head voice and a light, edgy mix help take the extra squeeze off 'nay'
You are so cute
