I love bonsai forests….I really struggle to get hold of trident seedlings here in the UK 🇬🇧…if I had as many as you, I’d have forest everywhere!!….. great video! Thanks
Very good. I’ve located and potted up, over several weeks in late September to early October, over a dozen volunteer Maples seedlings. They came up from maple seeds on mature trees and grew amongst shrubbery/bushes/rocks/etc nearby. Next year I’ll do what you’ve shown here. Thanks for more information on making bonsai grouping/forest setting. Thank you Mr. C. 😁
I've done a video on how to propagate your bonsai cuttings. Check it out here: czcams.com/video/ZxivvwyQbvU/video.html Semi hardwood for elm and trident cutting can be done almost all year round with a high rate of success.
I'm learning alot from your channel. Although I have no bonsai yet. My thing for the past decade has been native american marker trees in ohio. It's also really interesting to me the similarities. From the trees to the serpent mound to the yellow emperor. Thank you for what you do.
To simulate the exposed roots (Nebari in Japanese) of tree grown in open space. I try to make roots grow out radially and not cross over. You may recall in one of my videos I use a reciprocal saw to make radial cuts between roots.
Thanks for more practical advice. I'll see if my Trident cuttings take alright. Yours certainly grew well!
Great! Please keep us updated on your Trident's progress!
Very impressive as always my friend!
Thank you!
I'm impressed with how well-rooted those cuttings are.
Very nice job

Hello Milton, any chance you will do a video on how to do bonsai cuttings? Does it matter what time of the year you do your cuttings in the west?

How do you select the best roots

How long did it take to get to that size? I’ve been growing a maple for 3 months. It’s tiny. Seems like it’s taking forever lol
Ive had zero luck with cuttings :(
Please check out this video I did on rooting cuttings! czcams.com/video/ZxivvwyQbvU/video.html
