A great-great Aunt would be very old, but I'm unsure how she's still living. My great aunts are all dead and died pretty old too (99 and 97 respectively) so I'm unsure how she still has great-great aunts, but tbf my family is all older anyway

This happens to me too lol I was taught English by Italian American teachers so naturally I spoke like them but over the years I started speaking more standard English especially at my jobs. One day a woman with my accent came to my store and and spoke to me and I spoke back to her while my coworkers stared at me in shock at the sudden change. After she left I went back to my standard accent 😂 they were even more shocked because I was a brown woman haha

Basically any age over 12 is “old” for a little kid, mainly because it all seems so far off.
Let’s say she’s ten… it’s like asking a 25 year old about when they’re 50, or a 40 year old when they’re 80… you can barely comprehend what’s going to happen after you basically live your entire lifetime spent on earth again but now older and (hopefully) wiser
A 5 year old thinks they’ll be so grown up at 10, once upon a time they probably thought that when they’d be graduating preschool/daycare to kindergarten it would be THE biggest most absolutely grown up thing 🤭
Not to mention, when you’re 50, you’ve had 50 trips around the sun. That means 1 year is equivalent to 1/50th of your life. It’s practically nothing. When you’re only 5, that means 1 year is 20% of your life. It’s exponentially smaller haha.

Well, I think she's somehow, because she lives in LA, mixed her own accent with the Californian accent. It happens to people quite a lot. I'm from south africa, and relatives of mine have had the same thing happen to them.
She's very clearly not doing it on purpose. One sentence and it's a mix of both lol. She's in both countries a lot so it makes sense that her accent will be a weird mix of both
It happens a lot with these actors. They have to practice becoming characters from completely different backgrounds all the time. Not to mention she lives here now.

I've seen from other people that she turns on a more american accent when talking to kids because sometimes they don't understand her through her accent. i guess in this short specifically she switches to her regular accent when she hears that the mum is english because she feels solidarity. but it could also be that she spends a lot of time in america/around americans so her accent has just shifted and is between the two

This is what my Mom would call, a heart punch. My big sister, her oldest daughter, passed away suddenly less than two months before her 25th birthday. Losing a sister almost 12 years ago, is still to this day, the second hardest thing I've experienced. Watching my parents bury their daughter, was the hardest thing. May you find joy, peace and understanding in the memories you hold dear to your heart.

It stopped being a great country to live around the end of the 90's. it sounds nice from afar but our govt has royally screwed us up over the last 20+ years. Our wages have been stagnate for decades while everything skyrockets in cost. Homelessness is out of control. Drug addicts everywhere you look laying all over the sidewalks. The only thing our govt will spend money on is defense. Our roads and bridges are falling apart. Our education system is an absolute joke now. Our prisons are overflowing. Mass shootings every other week on top of the regular everyday shootings. We only have freedom on paper they've managed to find ways to get around most of that now. So what exactly is lucky about living here?
