This fight card is almost as bad as listening to someone talk about how they would fight a chimp. Oh yeah, Dana said they’re moving Fight Night out of the Apex and if they’re going to different cities they’ll have to put on bigger cards.
Best part at 14:00. I think you could make a whole video specifically about how the UFC hasn't supported Tom Aspinall. If the UFC sabotaged and neglected Jon Jones like they are neglecting Tom Aspinall, you'd hear about it on the evening News.
Tom is the biggest star in the UFC right now (he's not 36 like the other retiring stars). At least, he has the most potential out of any fighter on the roster. He speaks better than Adesanya, O'Malley, Khamzat and DuPlessis combined.
Bo Nickal is insanely talented, but... Tom Aspinall has a sense of humor, and he's funny.
Indeed, Dana should be putting Tom on every sport's show in the world. The neglect of Tom Aspinall is the abomination.

The ugly truth is the UFC aren't interested in building stars anymore and have shifted to building the brand itself. Its the reason we're started hearing so much bullshit hype about 'Hunter Campbell' and also the reason Dana gets asked half the questions at press conferences. Their own image is their number one priority in light of the issue of Fighter Pay, and they've learned that when fighters like Ngannou push to stardom, it only becomes more expensive to keep them around. They are trying to make themselves the stars and its led to some of the dullest, most repetitive promotion of the fighters themselves. Its all just about retaining power and the status quo. I know its easy to overlook the importance of fighters being paid, but as we're seeing its a deeper problem than previously thought.

You're right + look into who owns WME / UFC and you'll understand why things are this way.

This is a great take. I also believe though the ufc was built by Conor and thats honestly a fact, it was small time before Conor put the whole sport on and most fighters got build into stars during that Conor era. Now Conor and all the guys from his era are about to retire, it feels like the buzz is gone. Nobody but hardcores are gonna care about this next generation. Look at the card we just had, rob is the only fighter that’s relevant.

1/3 of the ufc roster needs to go, it’s filled with NPCs fighters who will never amount to anything. Less events more quality and better skilled fighters. Women mma needs to go, they have absolutely no buzz rn

I'm convinced that ESPN/Disney has a quota that the UFC needs to have at least x amount of Women's main events each year
I’m pretty sure Disney is relatively hands off with UFC except in extreme circumstances. At least that’s what Dana makes us think. I genuinely don’t know what the thought process is behind some of this booking.

UFC 300 was one of the most stacked cards ever but I feel like it messed up the formula they have for scheduling certain fighters for certain cards. It feels like were missing half the roster at this point

I am ok with apex cards………these cards are not for entertainment but for searching unknown talents or contenders……you can’t have stars on every card…if don’t do apex cards or fight nights, we won’t have stars in next 6-8 years then ufc will just become gimmick boxing like fights…..Just remember we found contenders like Tom , tablott , Steve erceg in theses kinds fight…….if you ask me I would watch stacked ppv once a month , one mid fight night like hermanson vs pyfer…..and bad apex card…But make sure that PPV is very stacked

I understand the UFC has a legitimate and justified reason to not stack fight night cards because obviously they want the very best fights in the sport reserved for PPVs so they can benefit financially…however the UFC the last year and half and especially this year in particular have legitimately made zero fucking effort to put on digestible fight night cards and it’s gross man. Some of these cards legitimately have main events that wouldn’t crack the main card of most PPVs let alone be placed highly on PPVs. It’s just ridiculous at how lazy they’ve been with fight nights it’s rough man when we gotta go weeks with shit card after shit card

a cool promo for Tom Aspinall would be if the UFC/Dana had him tour around the UK or any place interest, and do some throw back strong-man contest type thing. It could be like UFC fair/event. Have main event fights, like Belal and Edwards have their face off and do a sit down type thing like they had for Jones and Cormier, but live in front of a audience. I remember back when I was a casual they put out a promo for Rozenstruik vs Curtis Blades and it got me so hyped I remember thinking how cool they both were and how that fight would be a banger. Not only is easy (in terms of creativity) to make short notice fights between big names, seldom the results pay off. Usually due to underperformance for a fight that in paper should be a barn burner
Shevchenko puts on good fights and was almost becoming the Volk of WMMA. Weili is fun on fight week and has some fun fights. Grasso is boring, I will give you all that. Rose needs a comeback but she used to be fun. Fiorot is a beast. Blanchfield is fun to watch. Angela Hill is awesome. Loopy is a warrior. Meatball Molly still has promise.
And if ya'll were too busy being sexist on fight nights and PPV, some of the times the WMMA fighters show more heart than the guys on these cards. Stop acting like only men should be allowed to fight. The only thing women lack is overall size and thus power. Yet you all also think the heavier divisions for the men are boring too so what is it going to be?
