I’ve barely come into the market and was doing extensive research on which PEV would be best for me and was pretty much set on getting a OW GT but damn am I glad I stumbled upon your reveal of the float wheel from 2022 I’m now favoring getting one over a GT probably 80-20 but since I’m such a stingy consumer I’m gonna have to binge watch some more of your vids although I believe it’s safe to say that your transparency has earned you another customer. Please keep doing your thing as it builds so much confidence in my purchase
I know some people saying to allow customers to do it themselves but that looks painful for a railguard. I'm glad you are doing it! It's almost riding season here and I'm getting pumped to pay you the remaining amount and see how long it will take to ship here to Canada.

Armchair quarterbacking, but usually you see adhesive applied to the part first, then part applied to product. If it's done that way, then it can be thrown in the box for the customer to put on. Definitely appreciate the level of detail and craftsmanship you're putting in! Can't wait to see a shipping date, super stoked to get one!

Make is a very relative term. He designed and assembled, as part of a team. He did not program nor manufacture. I certainly didn't see him building a pickaxe to mine rare earth metal to make magnets for the motor 🤷♂️ So hey, if you slap a sticker on a stock GT you can say you made it yourself 🤣

Honestly, I received my Skeleton Switchblades from Tech-Rails with carbon guards to put on by myself. They gave 3M double sided tape, but I found easier to use a 3M spray glue on the guard and wait 24 hours to get it permanent. Job was completed in 10 minutes...
they used too many m4 screws, we all used m5 screws that should help a bit and our rails are machined from billet aluminum,they are using cast that help a bit too the prototype went through over 50x taking apart and reaseemble, holds up like a champ
you can probably just include it in the package tony and let the buyers put it themselves , just put up an instruction video like this so you can lighten up your workload.
Can you add the adhesive surface to the back of the rail guards? That way they are peel and stick and you can have riders easily install them themselves
Here order #1669. I'm totally fine with installing the guards on my own. I did like a 1000 comlicated arty griptape jobs in my life. So I'm pretty confident to not mess this up. By the way the black/dark grey ADV pro rails look so f***ing good!!!! I ordered midnight green, but I would be totally fine with getting the black/grey ones.
The problem with this difficult "handjob" can be solved by semi-automation. Just create a "stencil" that acts as a negative side for the railguard so the adhesive goes on the same spot all the time, every time.
@@Laurentbrn the rails cost $250.00 So if I get the guards for free now, I'll take them gratefully. But on the other hand a few scratches are not the end of the world. 🤷
@@floatwheel I put my rail guards on with it, and never had a problem even with hundreds of miles, but anecdote is not enough for commercial use. Given that it's a 3m product, I bet there is a datasheet with real numbers that might mean something 🤷♂️
@@floatwheel 3M also makes a heavy duty 90, and another called HoldFast70 which they quote as “this spray adhesive works strong and fast, it’s able to bond two large cinder blocks together and hold them almost immediately after application and it’s also good for polystyrene to metal and many other substrates.”

Hello I ordered a Floatwheel ADV on the site by ordering: - Floatwheel ADV standard battery mint - Drop-top fender mint I paid 59 usd in bitcoin. Since I have no news yet my money has been received.. I wrote an email to Tony with the various bitcoin payment info but no response
He's in crunch mode right now fixing last minute production issues. Don't fret this is a relatively common glitch with the payment portal where the receipt isn't sent. Tony has solved this for many of us and sent the proper receipt, just gotta be patient

I agree with Nico, nobody is expecting you to install these. In fact some people quite enjoy taking the time to ensure their own board is 100%.
Outsourcing to the customer and a how to video would be a great strategy. I would certainly accept that some assembly would be required.

just put it in the box, we can apply it. it is faster to make a guide on how to do it properly and let us do it.
