You can use a round toothpick cut in half instead of the brass pins . I have bin making that jig in 1/4 & 3/8 for 3 years.

I use that hook a lot in the freestyle heads. Solid hook for sure 👌

Love those Owner hooks 😍. I'm curious, have you tried the Owner 5313 jig hooks with that mold? I'm curious what your experience with that hook has been compared to the 5316.
Yep I’ve used the 5313 and the 5318 in this as well. Honestly the 5313 and 5316 are extremely similar and I don’t really notice a difference. The 5318 is much lighter and can be fished on super light line. I have some guys that fish these jigs with the 5318 all the way down to 8lb test and still have great hook up ratios with that lighter hook

Thank you. I’ll link the exact vise below. It says it will hold from a size 28 through a 4/0 but I’ve held up to 6/0 heavy wire hooks with no issues

Most of the time I will either have a 3” Ned worm or 2.5” Ned craw. If I want something with some action then I will cut down the small ecto craw and use that
