    You’re paying not just for the product and quality, but also her time that it took to make. Aka her wages and her employees wages. It also includes say materials, power, water, rent of a building if required. It must account for batches that get messed up. Not to mention small business don’t mass produce the products and that’s another reason why they are higher priced. No small business that makes products themselves can keep with with mass produced crap sold at 3 dollars. That is just life. Deal with it. Also anyone complaining in my comments or wherever… if you are the ones complaining it’s too expensive… do you realize it matters to nobody because you aren’t the target market anyways. So go buy your 3 dollar slime and be done. Or get your head out of your butt and stop being in denial about how the real world works for businesses that are not big name companies that use manufacturing that can mass produce. The end. Have a good day 😴
    Edit: listen people nobody cares. Let it go. Buy the slime… don’t buy the slime… at this point who cares. Y’all are annoying. (Not directed at anyone who added anything constructive or educating. Directed at people who won’t stop hating and just being plain mean all flipping day because they have nothing better to do with their time. )

      As a buyer, her time means very little to me if the price point doesn't match what I need or want. This is especially significant since she admits that store bought slimes use chemicals that make them last longer. I wouldn't use this argument for my food, because I don't want to eat chemicals. But for a slime, chemicals are just fine. And if I know it's going to last longer, I'd be willing to spend more. So her admitting that store bought is cheaper AND lasts longer are points against her. Which means at this point, quality is the only deciding factor for me. If how it feels in my hands is enough of an upgrade to justify that huge price difference, then that must be some really amazing slime. The only way I'd know that is to buy it first. And with that huge price difference, the odds of that happening are pretty slim. Especially since slime is pretty easy to make, anyway.
      That's for me, though. Obviously, thousands of others are okay with the price and find it worth it. Especially since she is constantly sold out. Plus, I enjoy watch her videos.

There *is* in fact dedicated effort and chemistry that goes into these little artisanal toys.

    • @jadynzemlock5622
      @jadynzemlock5622 Před rokem +3

      Greed is a nonstarter in the discussion. Free markets, provided they’re not a monopoly or oligopoly, will substantiate a market equilibrium price. Overcharging would actually result in profit loss because it’s straying from the point where costs of good sold at x quantity is farthest from sale price for x quantity ( I.e. straying from the point where the greatest profit margin is). This goes for under and overcharging. If greed was a real reason why a products /seems/ overprice, corporations and small business alike would take that and run with it. But that doesn’t happen because the market of buyers would drastically reduce for any of said overpriced products
      TL:DR
      Greed isn’t a real reason for overcharging because a company would lose buyers (and therefore profit)

    This is just my take on this but I honestly don't think it's quality, and you only stated one point of all the reasons it's priced $13. This is quite easy to make but the difference is that you have more cleaner slimes than homemade or mass produced slimes. However, the quality of slimes that are mass produced which you stated may not go bad unlike yours which I find a better deal out of. I'd rather have a slime that lasts longer than slime that goes bad too soon. Back to the homemade slimes, it's cheaper and you can make your own quality slime without having to pay $13, you could even buy all the materials needed in bulk for cheaper than buying one slime and sell the slimes you make while profiting. Then another part that throws me off is that you don't exactly calculate your slimes as in how much one slime weighs or how much materials were put in to create one, that alone throws me off and shows me you just price them however. (More detail of that was in another comment that I found)

      Honestly overall, prices for products aren't based on overall quality or quantity, it's based on demands and desires. More people that want it the pricier it'll be and because it's a business. You do it to earn money. You can enjoy your job and have fun with it, but at the end of the day what she does isn't charity even if she tries to make it seem like she's super friendly and chill, it's still a business.

      @owoiestplaguedoctor Před 2 lety +6

      Yes you can make your own but their is Absolutely no guarantee it will be as good and as for how easy it is for it to go bad it depends on where you leave it and how you take care of it. Also a fun fact is slime is much harder to make good quality of than it looks. It's like baking which you can easily over do and it turns out bad or you under do and it again turns out bad. Either way your also paying for their time, their skill, and how much money supplies was. However if you prefer cheap slime that's up to you.
