    Just purchased my first KMC Missing Link chain. This will come in handy for a no-tool install.

    I would highly recommend using the tool. It works far better than not using it, in my experience.

      as with anything that requires a tool. I don't think it's worth it, however, if you change chains only every so often.

      I have those two KMC pliers now maybe 13-14 years they were quiete inexpensive and made life + maintenance much easier but why they made two pliers instead of one the does both.

    08/06/2022 new KMC Missing Links will not "click". Something wrong with manufacturing tolerances?

    roughly how many times can you re-use it before it loses reliability?

    • @KMCChainEurope
      @KMCChainEurope  Před 3 lety +7

      there are re-usable and non re-usable MissingLinks. The re-usable ones you can reuse them for the whole lifetime of the chain. The non reusable ones you can only reconnect them a maximum of 3 times.

    Someone explain to me why these missing links are classified according to speeds? 6/7/8, 9, 10 etc.

    • @jslonisch
      @jslonisch Před 2 lety +2

      Because different speed chains have different dimensions. The missing links have dimensions to match with the chain.

  • @ireallyreallyreallylikethisimg

    I just did this only to find out my chain has a link too much 😭😭😭

      @KMCChainEurope  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi, Yes that is okay. Please do mind that there are re-usable and non re-usable MissingLinks. The re-usable ones you can reuse them for the whole lifetime of the chain. The non reusable ones you can only reconnect them a maximum of 3 times.

    I hate the missing link, it just never works. Shimanos magic pin is so much easier.
