    THE TOUR:
Join Igor in one of the most incredible walk in Venice, the district of Giudecca, and amazing Island situated in the suthern part of Venice. You will see a totally unexpected Venice. This island is actually made up of some islets connected by bridges. From the Church of the Redentore, built on a project by Palladio, to the complex of the Zitelle, where once the poorest orphans of Venice were raised. And then the church of Santa Eufemia, built in the 7th century, the Casa dei Tre Oci, a neo-Gothic palace and home to numerous events and exhibitions, the imposing Mulino Stucky, a wonderful example of industrial archeology.

    ABOUT IGOR
I’m Igor (that’s pronounced ee-gor, in case you are wondering!) and although you may not think it’s an Italian name, I am 100% Italian.I grew up in this area, between Treviso and Venice and I’m incredibly passionate about my region and 2 cities.I studied tourism, in Italy we have a special type of high school dedicated to tourism, and languages and I have been working in this sector since I graduated. I started in a hotel near Venice, then moved to one in London, which was an amazing experience. When I came back to Italy, I moved to with Globus and travelled all over Europe, from Portugal to Russia and the North Cape to Greece. Seeing so many places was great and I learned a lot meeting people from all over the world. In 2007, my grand tour ended, and I came home to Venice, where I qualified to work as a guide in the Veneto region (yes, in Italy you need a licence to work as a guide). I love taking my guests around this wonderful region, showing them all the fantastic treasures we have here. Whether you would like a tour of Venice, or a tailored, escorted experience with hotels, transfers and visits, let me be your Venetian expert! If you have questions you’d like answered or have no idea where to start planning your trip, get in touch with me and I will help you with suggestions, hints and bookings. I’ve been listed in Rick Steves’ guides to Venice, Italy and Europe since 2008, so I must be doing something right.

Thank you Igor! That was a wonderful tour. I wish I had been able to join. I loved all the talk of food and drink! 😀
I have a question of my own. I cannot eat (or drink) gluten. A year ago I did a lot of research to build a map of restaurants in Venice where I could get gluten free food. Now I am afraid that many of the places I found at that time may have closed down due to the pandemic. Will I be able to find Gluten Free food over there easily enough?

Can you talk of the past project proposals to build bridges and tunnels that would have connected Giudecca con San Marco and Fondamenta Zattere?

We will be staying at the Molino next month. It sounds like there is much to enjoy on Giudecca. We've been to Italy many times, but not to Venice for 15 years! Is it easy to get local tour guides through the hotel, or is it better to get more formal tours through Viator?
