    I want one of those. Be a challenge just because it needs a ton of upgrades due to RC. Whenever i get one, I'm doing a Korean war version...fenders all destroyed. Side skirt sections raised so ammo cans can be carried. Nifty looking...

    Hi Nigel, I am going to comment now, before I have even watched the vid,,,, GREAT!been here from the start Nigel and watch all the vid even the "real" land rover and Mustang. With your skills and engineering AND mod work a 1/16th Tamiya tank OR 1/14th Tamiya semi truck will be great to watch.

    Nice review Nigel. My grandson saw this review and now wants one also. I told him Santa is not made of money and we haven’t even started on the RC Land Rover yet. Thanks for the shoutout on the little Titanic video. I did two and if you want that one also let me know. Little different than the first one.

      Yes please Allen. As for your grandson wanting an RC tank, check out Henglong. BNot as good quality wise, but MUCH cheaper.

    @06:15 _"And I took that personally"_ - So from the Merriam Webster Dictionary I here present you: _"The word was first proposed by Davy in the form alumium, and changed by him to aluminum; but was finally made aluminium to conform to the analogy of sodium, potassium, etc."_ & _"The American Chemical Society (ACS) officially adopted aluminum in 1925, but in 1990 The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) accepted aluminium as the international standard."_ & _"And so we land today: with aluminum used by the English speakers of North America, and aluminium used everywhere else. Wrap your food and protect your head accordingly."_ So basically the same story like with the Imperial Measurement system used by miniscule minority of only three countries ( or less ).

    @25:00 And still smaller than the King Tiger and utterly dwarfed by the Leopard 2A6 😁
    Currently working on this kit myself ( imgur.com/a/o8fKjSs ) and yea... People weren't kidding when they said that it would be a tight fit. Much less of an issue in the King Tiger ( imgur.com/gallery/AB3vZQu ) or even the Leopard 2A6 ( imgur.com/a/GzLRqvl ) and with the Flakpanzer Gepard ( imgur.com/a/fxHQqrn ) I was on my own since it was a Total Conversion from the Display Static Model they rereleased back in 2011.

  • @toboldlygosmodelworks1973

    Of the Tamiya Tank's both in RC and just static Pershing's are going for silly money. I went the cheap route for an RC tank and got a Heng Long Challenger II which is huge and hoot to use (especially as it fires bb rounds) - though I won't run the smoke unit in the house again lol

    • @Duraltia
      @Duraltia Před 3 lety

      Just bought a new Tamiya #56016 Pershing for less than € 500.- which is kinda a bargain.
      I think you also need to understand the difference between Tamiya and Heng Long that is causing the stark difference in price of their RC Tanks:
      1. Tamiya RC Tanks, like the smaller static models, are meant to be built by the user and the user expects for this to be the case as part of the journey and to fulfil that expectation you're given a LOT more parts to work with requiring a lot more injection moulding machines than what Heng Long would use with their like 1-2 dozen parts you could separate their model up.
      2. While I never held a Heng Long in my own hands the sound the plastic makes in the hands of CZcams Reviewers is vastly different to that of Tamiya plastic which kind of tells a story of its own hinting at either cheaper plastics or less thereof which makes sense because of how the parts are being constructed - My 6.5kg Leopard 2A7+ ( imgur.com/a/GzLRqvl ) is being constructed from multiple stacks and Layers of plastic intersecting with each other forming a rigid construction once fully assembled - Heng Long will always just be a one Layer thing that bends and flexes.
      You basically get what you pay for.

    Hi nige , Pete here , thinking of getting one of these , can you confirm aftermarket bearings required , been on rc website they have
    2 , 56015 and 56016 cannot see a difference , both have 2 options metal or rubber , which one , also are there any more aftermarket you would recommend.

      Buy the rubber shielded bearings. The rubber shield will help keep moisture and dirt out of the bearings.

    That sir, is verging on pornography. Well porn for modellers that is. I'd never buy one but it's nice to look. Soft fibre optics - try Cheltenham Model Centre.
