    All space heaters are 100% efficient- the type of heater you choose will depend on the space you are heating and heating goal- halogen provides instant heat, even outside or in a garage with an open door and is useful where it is desirable to feel warm without necessarily heating the whole space. Fan heaters are good for spreading the heat out where you most need it and oil filled heaters are the best for maintaining a good even heat (I use an oil heater in my bedroom because other types tend to overheat the room, turn off and then let it get chilly before turning on, once you find the right setting, your oil heater will continue giving off heat after the thermostat turns off leading to fewer peaks and troughs- this is the kind I recommend if you are heating a room.)

    The Dr. Infrared Heater offers energy-efficient warmth. Though 1500 watts remain consistent, focusing it on a primary room helps cut overall energy costs. A smart choice for saving money.

    I heated my large apqrtment to 75 with an oil radiator heater (portable) my electric bill was almost $200/mo with the included heater, down to $50/mo. We left the bedroom doors open, the kids rooms, my wife and i didnt like heat in our room at night. It was on medium or 900 watts 24/7. The other trick is placement and a circulation fan to push the heat to back of home

      Thanks for the comment. If you can handle 70 degree temperature then you can save even more money with a portable heater. Also, be sure to get a unit with an ECO mode, so it will save the most energy.

      @@HomeAirGuides Eco doesnt do anything! You are full of shit! Energy is being converted to heat, the amount or energy you use is directly equivalent to how much heat you get.
      Use a heat pump to be more energy efficient, or take your AC & turn it backwards.

      This is false information, every electric heater is 100% efficient as efficiency loss is measured by wasted energy turned to heat.
      But when the goal is to produce heat it can only be 100% efficient. A standard plug in a US / Canadian household can provide 1,500 watts of power.
      Meaning the smallest 1,500 watt heater for $15 is just as efficient & will produce just as much heat as the largest 1,500 watt heater. Don't waste your time falling for the marketing.

    What Gamble said.
    The laws of nature state that you can not create or destroy energy. You can only convert it from one form to another form.
    Every single watt used converts to the same amount of heat.
    One heater can not magically do that any different than another.

    • @HomeAirGuides
      @HomeAirGuides  Před 3 lety +3

      If both units use 1500 watts, then they both consumer the same amount of energy. The key is to get a unit that includes an Eco Mode as they consumer the least energy. Eco mode cycles the unit from high to low to maintain the set room temperature with the least amount of energy used.

    This is bogus nonsense. All electric space heaters are limited to 1500 Watts, and produce the same 5120 BTU. None are more "efficient" than any other.

    • @HomeAirGuides
      @HomeAirGuides  Před 3 lety +3

      Thanks for your comment! We can explain this in a bit more detail so it makes sense.
      What makes a space heater more efficient are the added technologies that reduce the use of those 1500 watts. For example, a space heater with and Eco Mode that minimizes energy use will not consumer 1500 watts of power on a constant basis. It can vary between 750 to 1500 watts while the unit is heating a room. Compare that to a space heater that only runs at 1500 watts until you turn it off.
      Now, if the space heater uses infrared technology to heat a room, then it is heating up the actual objects in the space and not the air. Air is a poor conductor of heat. Therefore, the heat can be felt much faster with an infrared heater and last longer when the unit is turned off because the objects slowly cool down. Those two things combined can allow you to run the heater less often and at a lower power setting.
      We hope this helps!
