You said during battery removal, it’s good practice to remove negative first, then positive terminal…then the installation is reverse - positive first, then negative terminal. But during the installation of the new battery you hooked up the negative side first.

Thanks for showing us how to replace the 12v battery.. especially the safety procedures.

24:44 aren't you supposed to put positive first?

Great video! Would love to buy a battery and HEPA filter from you - but shipping to Europe is just extremly costly

Where can one take a spent LFP battery for recycling? Send it back to Ohmmu?

BEWARE! After a dozen exchanges with OHMMU, they repeat the company line that Tesla software updates have made my new lithium battery incompatible… YET they continue to sell it? If you buy this, you should expect the same outcome. you can wish for it to work but you will eventually get “schedule service to replace low-voltage battery” and you will enjoy the frustration that I have enjoyed

This is a source of frustration for me as well. I am not sure how many times a month I will need to deep reset the car. The old Lead Acid Battery sitting on the battery tender looking, sadly, like a better option. Awesome idea for product, but the battery and Tesla software don't seem to want to coexist in a healthy way.

@@crossey3d I put mine back on! I do have two “brand new“ useless OHMMU batteries if anyone wants them?

Tesla proprietary when the car upgrades it will reject the battery which is my experience when I changed my battery of MY.
Towed the car to Tesla and cost me more ..

You said when installing new battery, attach the positive first then negative second..... But you attached the negative first..?

I noticed that too. A response from Ohmmu would be helpful. 😀

You really should redo this video ASAP. You are giving bad info. You are NOT supposed to unplug the first responder high voltage plug until AFTER you disconnect the negative terminal. Also, you connected the negative terminal first after you installed the Ohmmu battery. What? You even say to connect the positive first. Very sloppy. You could really cause someone to cause damage to their Tesla with this video. I bought a battery from you guys, but decided not to install it after researching the issues. Now I'm stuck because you showed pulling the high voltage plug first. My car won't reboot at all after reconnecting it (I didn't touch the battery terminals at all since I decided not to install the Ohmmu battery). My 12v wasn't even dead when I started the process... I just had the warning to replace it soon. My car is a brick right now. I have to wait until the end of the month when mobile service can get to my house. I just hope I didn't short out any components because of this (the Tesla Service tech told me over the phone that it's possible.)

The First Responder loop is not a High Voltage plug, it is a wire loop that grounds the contactors in the HV pack. When you disconnect that loop it discharged the energy holding the contactor in the "closed" position and so the contactor moves to the "open" position. This will happen the same way whether you have a 12V battery connected or not. If you have a 12V disconnected when you pull this loop the DC/DC will immediately shut-down b/c it is no longer receiving HV energy and this means the car will no longer output 12V energy. This is the reason for disconnecting the first responder loop first, so that when you disconnect the 12V battery the 12V wiring is "neutral" and not creating potential pathways to short.
