- Generac portable generator, rated at 8,000 continuous, 10,000 starting. I have not had to use this one much, thank goodness, as I live in Florida and that means we haven't had a bunch of hurricanes where I live since I bought this unit. Electric start and pull start back up. Amazing generator, no issues since I bought it. Gas seems to last a long while in it.
Bought this generator a couple days ago for emergency backup power as well as the occasional RV trip. Definitely overkill for RVing but I might as well use it sense that is what I have. Thinking about converting it to tri-fuel for better versatility in emergencies.
Yeah, definitely strong for camping, but awesome at the house for emergencies.
I bought one just like it runs my whole house we also have natural gas does a great job.
Not very quiet but I guess the neighbors will have to put up with it in a black out. Gotta keep the Coors blue n cold.
I just bought this. I bet you may need this now! !
You will love it! Fortunately, we aren’t seeing much from this current hurricane, but the next is always on the way, never know when.
Jeremy does that model have an oil filter? I did not see one in your video.
Jeremy , thank you for the video. I had just had the same generator completely serviced last season . I went to start this year , after changing the oil and it back fired big time . Net , I’m having to spray starter fluid to start and it runs fine ( just ran for 11 hours during a storm) . But without spraying the carb and starting with the air filter open it’s not starting ?
i was looking at one like this! $1100 at my local store
Tacoma FAN
It is an excellent generator! No issues and crazy powerful!
Be careful using generators czcams.com/video/I1jT3ANENvI/video.html don’t ignore it
I'm looking at this model and the RS8000E dont know the difference between the 2 but the GP 8000E weighs over 100 pounds more than the RS model so I'm guessing the GP has a better build quality
I do not know the differences between those two. This thing is definitely heavy, and the build quality is excellent!
Do I need a gen tent for this generator re:RAIN,ICE,SLEET?Dumb question?
I have a question. How do you bypass or disable the co sensor?
Thank you, Sir. Great video. Seems straightforward. Any concern with voltage drops using a 100 foot cable?
Greg Anderson
Definitely not. This thing is a beast. Have used it for over two years now and not a single issue
@@jeremyminter1283 thank you so much!
Do you have a picture of the 12 volt battery wall charger?
My dog chewed through my wiring on mine. Is there any chance you can snap a few pics of the wiring going to the oil level sensor and the starter to make sure I have them hooked back up right
Thanks for this
What’s the Ac Breaker
Does it have a handle to move to ideal ? Or does it always run on high?
setofirons
It always runs at full pace. When current is added, you can hear it ramping up, but there is no idle mode.
Jeremy Minter I’m in South Florida and looking into buying a generator as well. Budget is about $700-1000. Looking at champion from Costco and the dura Max . Any input on these? Thx
I have a few buddies that have Champion and haven’t had any issues as long as you change the oil often. Not sure about dura max. Generac will be a top of the line unit and you won’t have issues, however, they cost slightly more. (You get what you pay for...)
Will it run the hot water heater and 3 1/2 ton h vac. With plugs and lights ?
This size will not run the hvac and water heater at the same time, when they are powering on. It will do the plugs and lights with one of the other big pull items going.
I am considering a generator and have the interlock system. I cannot find a double male end cord. Do I have to have one made?
Jason Chapple
I found it on amazon. They are expensive, but you have to have it. If you are handy, you can make one by buying the ends and buying the cord by the foot.
do you know what is the THD value on it?
How hard is it to pull the cord on the generator???
I won’t say it’s the easiest cord I have ever pulled, but it starts up on first or second pull when I choose to start it by this method. If you can pull start an average lawn mower, then you can definitely start this generator. (Don’t let the battery die and you won’t ever have to pull start it.)
@@jeremyminter1283, Lol, I'm old so I forget things. I have a small generac and can pull that cord fairly easily. Thank you for your response and I enjoyed your video.
Can i use a normal battery charger I have mine in a shed with no electricity I took the battery out I can not find anywhere it says yes or no to use another type of charger
Not sure. Never tried that.
Why won't my generac produce electric
.
The worse generator ever made good luck on the cosence sensor in 1 year or less can't even find part for it local or on line they force you to take it to a dealer
there isnt a co sensor on this model.
