The Rimini Riddle needs to be recovered I want to see more of this show.
I remember watching this show as a kid, and the puppets would scare the heck out of me!
I thought I would let everyone know that I emailed RTE about this series asking them if they would ever re air it or release it on DVD & Blue ray. They told me that they have no plans of doing either of those things but that could change in the future. So it looks like there could be hope for this series to make a comeback.

I can see where this is a heart felt show and you could fall in love with the characters, but the movements and scary eyes and it being the '80s kind of creeps me out.

Yeah idk what's stopping them from releasing anymore content of this. It's well over 25 years old. Release DVDs or something if you want ppl to pay for it. Watching any more of this would be awesome.

Rimini Riddle should have been an adult show and not a kids show because of the characters' bizarro appearance. But it doesn't seem that bad of a show.

This show was truly magnificent....,some of my earliest and fondest childhood memories are from this show. Would it be possible to post some more scenes here on youtube?? I really enjoy watching "The Fat Catastrophes", they are so great!!! I've read so many posts online from people asking why RTÉ don't re-show it. I would love it if they did or even released it on DVD as it would mean I could share it with my own children. That would be really special to me.

Absolutely don’t recommend it to your kids. This show REALLY I mean REALLY MESSED UP THOSE WHO WATCHED. not just kids but adults as well. Kids have night terrors, nightmares, cry and scream because of this show out of some reviews I’ve heard. Not a great idea.
This is a superb classic production. I love this show to bits. Otto, Leo, Rory and Vera are sterotypical of a strange breed of irish people who still exist especially in South County Dublin. Weird in a very interesting socio- behavioral study, unique to Ireland. Deligthed to see it on here. As Rory says, Come on Portnashee Community school !!!

Can't believe it - this show came into my head today, and now when I look it up I see it was only uploaded an hour ago. Cheers for that! This programme used to fascinate and equally scare the shite out of me as a child.

Superb production. I remember the series and loved every episode. Rory was so cool Leo and Otto as well. I actually remember a woman who spoke and acted exactly like Aunt Vera in Sandymount Dublin. So cringe worthy pseudo middle class common, if you will excuse the expression in Dublin 4. LMAO. Claudia does snobbery so naturally. It spectacular to look at the pathetic wannabes in D4.
This show seems so interesting, I was nowhere near alive when this was created and aired, but I'm really interested about mid-late 19th century puppetry and this will forever be on my watch list until they release/find more than a few clips of the series

This show has haunted me for years. There were many nights when I'd think of it on a sleepless night, and then so many little pieces of it would get stuck in my head and scare me senseless. It was especially surreal because i've had delusion-dreams in the past where I completely lost all grip on reality, and i thought this might be one of them. I needed to be assured by a lot of people that this show had actually existed. You'd never think this amount of creativity could make it to RTE screens.

what a disturbing show! my god how was that released for kids to view. remember watching it as a kid and being disturbed by the characters in it. not sure why they were modelled so badly, the acting doesn't seem to bad (if not pointless for kids - valentines day?)

It was mentioned on the radio this morning while I was in town (Galway) getting something to eat. Even the clock ticking is eerie stuff. So much of it must've gone over my head when I was nine or ten years old 'cos I'm freaked out even more now!! XD Cracking stuff, though. :) I hope RTÉ do a DVD and l'll echo billythehick in saying that they rarely screened this kind of creativity. Or given today's world of bullshit reality TV and cack like Friends and Lost, any other channel for that matter...

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASEEEEE DO NOT EVER SHOW THIS TO YOUR KIDS. THEY WILL NEED A THERAPIST, COUNSELOR, PSYCHIATRIST, MENTAL HELP AND MORE JUST BECAUSE OF THIS NIGHTMARE OF A SHOW. Luckily, I was not born in the 90’s but very close. I’m a 2000’s kid and grew up with The Wiggles, Rollie Polie Ollie. Teletubbies, Suite Life and better shows. Not only kids but adults as well were greatly effected by this show. Kids screamed, cried, had nightmares and night terrors just because of this. Not a smart decision to lead your kids down that road. I never saw it but out of the reviews it was purely terrifying.

RTÉ should have produced their own version of The Muppets rather than produce this shite.
They could create a colorful gang of puppet characters and have a Special human guest on each show. (For instance the opening line in each show would be "It's the Truly Irish Muppet show with our special guest star, Mr. Steven Staunton!") It would be the best thing beyond the success RTE had with Wanderly Wagon.
