Thank’s for the video ! Was very easy to fallow for a first timer ! My wife’s car was serviced by the dealer , but the prices they charge in this days are outrages ,so your demonstration was very helpful !👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😁😁😁😁😁😁
It is not possible to overtighten this thing. Use Toyota filter with original gasket, make that gasket generously wet with oil. Screw it on by hand, when cold. It will go until it bottoms out. Just like you did “hit resistance” at around 9 minutes. It will be at the end of its way. Leave it there. No torque wrench necessary.
I didn't actually see you change the larger washer. I assume you did though? I would like to try to do these changes myself so thanks for the video. I wish I had one of those torque wrenches although I DO have ramps. I also have a 2015 Highlander but am dealing with ABS/Traction control lights on and "Check AWD System" message. I already tried a new sensor harness. Different subject for a different video.
The usual places. Amazon, dealership, local auto parts store (autozone, o'rielly's, etc.) Something's you can find packaged deals, like 3 filters with o-rings and plastic drain plug along with the adapter attachment.

Awesome! Thanks!
Awesome step by step video!!! Thanks!!
I'm glad you mentioned the ft pound of torque. I've broken like 3 wrenches by overtighening the filter housing
Over-tightening seems to be a common issue. Even Toyota dealerships have been guilty of this.
Why would u feel it necessary to tighten to the point of breaking it?

good
Thorough
8:38 hit resistance, bottomed out, so much for over tightening or torque to specifications.
Thanks for watching!
Is there a plastic splash shield on this year highlander?
No, I don’t think so.
Where did u get the torque spec for everything?
Toyota filters have torque specs on the box. Haynes brand manuals are a good resource. www.tohighlander.com is a great website as well.
Where can i purchase the oil filter wrench attachment?
The usual places. Amazon, dealership, local auto parts store (autozone, o'rielly's, etc.)

Never double click torque wrench
Is it bad luck? Just kidding! :) Possible over torque?
