18th Birthday with Singapore Airlines 777-300ER in Business Class | Tokyo to Singapore

This video officially marks the last flight I have flown prior to the world of aviation coming to a halt due to COVID-19. This inadvertent watershed moment also happened to be one of the most important days in my life thus far, my 18th birthday.
Having arrived in Tokyo with ANA, my onward journey to Bangkok disintegrated due to Thailand’s entry restrictions. My 8 hours transfer in Tokyo was elongated to 12 hours involving rounds of negotiations with ANA’s customer service manager. 3AM on the morning of March,13rd, I was able to reach a bilateral agreement with ANA as they booked me on a full fare business class ticket with Singapore airlines from Tokyo to Hong Kong with a 1 stop transfer.
This was not my first time flying with Singapore Airlines and I intentionally pushed ANA to book me on Singapore’s flights as I am confident that the world’s best airline would make my birthday flight a memorable one. The actual flight turned out to be way beyond what I had desired. A full-size birthday cake, disco ball, and birthday cards .. presented on a 6 hours red eye flight to a non-member. I was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism of Singapore Airlines but was once again awed at the level of bespoke service they are able to deliver.

You’re so unique. I had no idea you are only 18 and that explains a lot. I relate to you on many levels, but for sure we’re simpatico regarding Singapore Airlines. After much debate with myself, I truly believe SQ is the world’s best airline, but I had to wrestle a whole lot because Emirates’ flashiness is hard to get past without a bit of intoxication! What was the cabin managers name ??? Sounded a bit strange to me !! A belated Happy Birthday mate and I hope your nuts were warm !! Great to see a most excellent Australian wine on the drinks menu !! The Japanese food looks great and I hope it tasted as good as it looked !! How good is the Birthday gift from the crew...no wonder SQ is the BEST !!! Great video mate and stay safe and well in Hong Kong...bit of a mess there at the moment...and to be honest a bit of a mess everywhere !! Thanks again !!!
Emirates did the same for me on my 65th Birthday, i Love both Emirates and Singapore both are much more expensive than other Airlines and i will admit i don't care so much about the food and other things you bloggers always complain about, but if the service is good and natural that counts for me and i believe Singapore has a slight edge on Emirates in this department, but both are excellent.

Singapore Airlines offers paid cake service if you contact beforehand. But in my case, I booked 24 hours before departure so technically it has passed the deadline to request.

My mother flew with me many times lol. I drink for the sake of tasting so not too much of a problem :))
You haven't explained how you were able to have alcohol served to you on your flights (previous trip reports) when you were under 18 years old.
That's indeed a question that I find hard to explain lol. Same with checking-in to hotels I was never denied anywhere in the world. As for your question, I feel like it's now natural for cabin crew to service alcoholic drinks to anyone in premium cabin as long as they look legit. I almost never had to ask for it. There was even an instance where a Delta Skyclub lounge attendant proactively offered me a cranberry vodka a few years ago.
@@ShanghaiFlyer I guess you probably have the advantage of looking older than you actually are! I remember another youtuber (based in Hong Kong) who looks like a kid and had to ask the flight attendant to make him a "kids champagne" (apple juice mixed with sparkling water) when flying CX F.
