    Update:
Bit of disappointing news, but I got copyright flagged during the No Mans Land scene of the movie and had to remove it after the fact. Such a shame too since it was the emotional high of the movie imo.
Thanks for watching everyone! I hope you enjoy this weeks video.

The point of Charlie's character wasn't to set him up as a Chekov's gun. The point was to show the impact war had on people and also Diana's compassion. She doesn't convince him to keep going after the village because she wants him to shoot people. She convinces him because she says "who will sing for us?" And she means it. It's not just her being nice.

For those curious, a lot of medieval buildings were made of wood. Brick is mostly used now because of all the rain. It rots wood quickly, but it makes producing bricks easier and cheaper. The US has a wide variety of climates where wood structures aren't a problem. Just like people joke on areas of the US for shutting down with the slightest snow because there's no infrastructure to deal with something that happens once every few years. But the opposite has happened. Parts of Europe shut down because of a heat wave some years back. Their AC units aren't designed to operate at temperatures the lower states get regularly since they rarely get above a warm day.

From Chief she learns Men can forgive each other for the most horrible things. Watching Charlie have a nightmare about losing his friends showed her they experience Fear and Guilt of Loss, through Sameer she learned Men love and appreciate the Arts even if culture at the time wont accept him. And when the final battle was looking bad for the good guys, she looked over and saw them holding each other in what could be their last moments, They all taught her about Love and all its different levels that bind us together.

what I like about this movie is how different it is from Man of Steel in terms of showing how powerful the protagonist is, In Man of Steel it is clear from the beginning that Kal is not human, because even as a teenager he did things that a grown man would never have the strength to do
With Diana on the other hand, even though it's clear that she's stronger than a human being, the movie makes us think it's because she's an Amazon, but when Ares says she's half goddess, it all makes sense, She was clearly surprised at her own strength after training with Antiope, even before the awakening in Steve's death she was alredy more than a regular Amazon, She was so fast that she followed the trajectory of a bullet in the beach battle, Her healing factor was so fast that she healed from a bullet wound in a few hours, impressing even an Amazon healer, her fingers bent steel and penetrated solid rock, one hit of her arm dented the door of an armored tank, she was always so strong and we didn't realize that until after Ares' revelation, even she looked surprised, it all made sense to her after that, and when she embraced this truth her power became so insane that not even the God of War could defeat her

I generally hate the dress-up montages, but this one fits. Diana isn't a character who's changing up her look. This is a warrior who *needs* to be clothed to blend in but finds nearly every stitch of clothing is geared towards fashion rather than function. This is one of the few examples of a montage that is necessary and appropriate.

Still even now for me the best DCEU film. Just a real shame they didn't stick the landing.
If Diana was left with the idea that there was no wizard behind the curtain and that some people can just be evil, it adds more. Also adds more weight to Steve's death as she was so single minded in her pursuit. Unfortunately we had to get the big CGI fight and her power up that never appears again...

Matt: the first person on the internet to appreciate the final fight scene with Ares.
The great thing about this movie is it presents multiple answers to the problem of evil, and support for both answers. Is it black & white, or is there a gray area? Yes.

I think you misunderstood what she was saying about love.
By the end she understands that killing Aris does NOT take the bad out of people's hearts.
She knows that it's a personal choice everyone makes, and that protecting people (witch dose sometimes requires fighting or killing), and Love is the best way to encourage people to chose good.
It shows her accepting Steve's view on people, not giving a different one.
Before, she "loved" people because of an imaginary goodness she thought they had. When she finally understood how flawed they were, she stopped "loving" them. Watching her friends, out of bullets, holding each other waiting to die, and especially Steve giving his life to save countless others, she was now able to "Love" humanity for who they really are.
She always wanted to help Humanity be the best version of itself but now she's changing her tactics.
She doesn't want to help Batman take out big bads, because she no longer believes that is the answer.

I love this movie and the message. Cuz its so true. Ares isn’t what makes people evil. Those people do evil things because they are evil. And killing him didn’t make humanity pure. Humanity can be disgusting and evil and it can be amazing, beautiful, and good. No one will ever defeat evil. Everyone has to chose for themselves what type of person they want to be. Love and compassion is what changes the world for the better.

In the comics, the Amazonians don't sculpt their children from clay. That was only Diana. She's a special case.
In the comic canon, the Amazonians will go out into the ocean outside of their safety bubble. They lure in sailors, sleep with them, then kill them and sink their ships.
After birth if the child is a girl, great. If the child is a boy, they kill it and start the process all over again.
Pretty dark if you ask me.

I understand that people want a female lead superhero movie. I get that the cultural significance of this movie is huge. However.. This doesn't really do Wonder Woman, or Women in general justice.
Steve Trevor is the one who pushes the plot forward in every situation.
If Steve never survived in the island and told Diana about the war they never would have left.
If Steve didn't have the rank he did, Diana would have never talked to the Generals.
Steve is the one that took Diana to the front.
Steven is the one that blows up the plane.
It's even Steve's death that pushes her over the edge.
The entire time Diana is constantly asking "Steve, I need to do something. Can you help me?" And Steve's like "Yeah baby, don't worry about it. I'll take care of you. I'll handle it."
He has an answer for everything that Diana needs help with. Steve is the driving force behind the movie. Which sucks because it should have been Diana.
1984 was a better movie in terms of this, but even then, that movie was pretty gross at certain times. (It wasn't a good movie, but at least Diana actually solved problems on her own without needing her man to hold her hand.)
I just think this movie was pretty bad.

I think this film would have been so much better if it had ended around the point of Steve Trevor explaining to Diana that outside the world of Themyscira "it isn't just one bad guy" without the Ares reveal. The angle of Ares being the "God of Truth" rather than War, could have been good for a sequel, but here it feels like they subverted a good introspective ending for something more formulaic.
