Yeah for real. I’d argue Gta 5 was about just as much ahead of its time as RDR2 was for its own time. Not sure why you’d be comparing two Rockstar games from different time periods and expect the older one to win.

I don't know if I would give pacing to Grand Theft Auto V the story is kind of a mess specially when you're having multiple different characters doing multiple different things instead of being a more focused coherent story with just one protagonist
I'm 26 and i played every Rockstar game since Gta 3, RDR2 is easily the biggest Rockstar's masterpiece, way more depth and better story, same with almost every characters, only kids would prefer GTA 5

I crashed a car In GTA V, no biggie My lack luster horse died in RDR2 and I cried. Only games that made me cry was this game, the Witcher 3, and Arma 3 when I planned an assault for 5 hours and we got pushed back

Arthur Morgan is too great as a protagonist and shouldn't die at the end of RDR2 and it was not optional. The protagonist that really deserves to die in Rockstar Games character is Jimmy Hopkins.
His death was part of his character arc his redemption was using the time he had left to help others giving the debtors money helping john and his family escape helping people it doesn't make all his bad deeds go away but he died a good and reddemed man
