Really good review. I found that truck way too slow for me but like you said… pretty good for its intended market. I think it could be great for a younger kid just getting into RC!
@DerbyCityRC I honestly feel like you are going to hit 100k next year, I don't even know how you do it , having kids, wife , job , plus making videos and the editing , takes a lot of dedication and discipline, but if you keep pushing eventually you will be one of the big channels, that's for sure, ! Lately I feel like changing my channel to RC cars because if you ! Hahaha
@jmrbuilds thanks hopefully!! It certainly takes some time lol. I usually only work on editing at night when kids are in bed, just need MORE time lol Haha RC cars are fun!!!!!!!
Cool video!!! I think this is a nice car to start with 1/10th scale, enough speed and plenty of run time for a reasonable price. Thanks for the review, super interesting as always 😊
lol i haven’t decided yet. Every time i see it I’m like dang, what do I want to do lol Very well may give it a farewell by putting a brushless in it lol
No now lol. I was expecting a bit more than that, but it did have a little to wire to push through the leaves, sand and grass. Better than what you can get from Walmart atleast 🤣
Depends on what you want to pay. I like the ToolkitRC M6D which I've got for my buddy but that requires an external PSU. I think there is an AC version too. It can charge on two independent channels and the menu is very easy to understand. I've also have a SkyRC B6AC v2 which also works okay but there are many clones put there and the UI is very functional but a bit dated. I also have ab iCharger X6 and it's probably the most capable of the three I own but the UI is very convoluted and power user oriented. I don't like it that much for that reason. The little dial knob is also quite terrible.
I use one called a Lectron Pro I got from my local hobby shop but I’m not in love with it. I have one in the mail right now that I believe you can control with an app, which would be awesome, so hopefully I’ll have a good one I can recommend in the next couple videos.
@@DerbyCityRC I think one of the main specs to looks for is the balancing current rate per cell. If balancing is slow the charge time will take forever when cells become unbalanced. For these cheaper Chinese RC cars it seems that 3S is usually the max you see so even the smaller chargers with a lower wattage should be able to achieve a 1C charge rate. The Lectron Pro ACDC-10A charger seems to be similar to the B6AC v2 in terms of UI. Many of these chargers have that type of UI. I am not sure where it original came from. There is a lot of cloning going on with these chargers. I think one of the original developers might be iCharger but that's just my speculation.
I made this table comparing some ISDT chargers while I was looking for a new one for my friend. If I get really bored one day I may update it. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1h7yFnoVZx2yivgTSXgzex4MBJyb-Zhsow6l1USyskGw/edit?usp=sharing
@@DerbyCityRC I'm new at the game 54 couldn't afford toys when I was a kid I got two for $100 are a 3s for 150 just curious what a 2s would be good because they only come with one
Can't get this because im about to buy my first 1/10 scale while in vacation and I hope it holds for a long time, The rc is named UJ99 Q107 and it looks sick!
I am disabled, I get very little per month, I lost my ability to walk at 62 yrs. I lost my home and everything in it. I can stand a little. I don't have much money. I was am being put in a home, I would like to play with a RC truck while I sit I want to best deal what do you think. I want fast and made to last. Please. I took a coupon you gave DKC etc for $100.00 in parts I tryed but it didn't take. Please help me. I have $350. To $400.00 to spend that took 2 years to save. My rent takes all but S100.00 a month. My cat stuff is around $70.00.
I bought a 1/8 scale hosim rc truck this will have to last for life. Can I add bigger wheels tires, where can I get them. I will have questions at times
That’s a fun car. It’s weak point is the differentials though so I wouldn’t add bigger wheels. Personally I think that car does well with the tires that are on it even though they don’t have much foam in them. They allow the car to slide around and don’t put as much strain on the drivetrain as other tires would.
Big motor! Big chassis! Fancy wheels! A lot of noise! Looks beefy and tough! But...in reality it's really slow, kind of easy to break, and doesn't live up to expectations. 😢 Could this be the Harley Davidson of RC cars? J/K! I couldn't resist! How many miles on your Tundra?
I know! Couldn’t believe how slow it was with that big motor. Not a crazy amount of torque either. The old tundra is right around 190k Barely hitting puberty!!
Ya it’s nothing incredible but like I said, it’s good for a beginner that doesn’t want a little 1/16 car lol Once parts are available, slapping a brushless in there could be fun 🤣
Ya I watched that too actually. I was surprised the car held up pretty well. Not worth upgrading at all, I still just think it’s good for someone that wants a big car but has more power than the junk at Walmart lol
You wouldn’t think they’d want to feature that video lol I like it a little more than he did, though certainly get all his points. Definitely a decent car for someone who wants or needs slow, and larger car than typical and not get the junk from Walmart
@@DerbyCityRC I was a little confused, most of his videos are about tamiyas and kyoshos, I didn't know he had time to test all of the budget RCs of 2023 too, unlike some other awesome channels like Derby City RC
I’ll have to check his video on it out, but ya I would not buy it for myself that’s for sure. It does have its place among youngsters who don’t want a small car.
So if you watched a video of someone rolling it around like a granny on her way to church and then bought it. You get all excited when it shows up, but you broke it when you accidentally hit a curb, then found out there were not even parts available for it yet. Wouldn’t you have wished you saw this video instead?
Good starter RC. Great video Evan!!
Thanks Brad!!
So this seems like a good candidate for some upgrades.
I agree!
I got this comment too 👍
Great run and review
Thanks!!
It has potential with some upgrades. definitely good to see a budget 1/10 scale though most are not true to size
I agree! I was happy to see it was sized properly and not painfully weak and slow like the bigger Walmart models
cool rc and great review
Thanks!

Man , your channel is growing so fast!🎉
I'm happy for you 🙂
Thanks man! I put in a lot of work so glad to see it myself 😃
I appreciate it!!

Do they do these in brushless
You guys will enjoy the granted grom fun little truck for the price.
I've been eyeing this rc for a while. Just curious, are you gonna go mad scientist on this and convert it to brushless? 😁

Please review the arrma vortex please ❤❤
Yeah that would be sweet, I just ordered one of those,
@@videovermont9282 same 😂😂
Maybe one day but I have so many videos I’m working on it would probably be summer by the time I got to it 🤣
LETS GO 🔥
i love your video
Thanks!
What charger do you use? Been looking for a decent somewhat entry level charger we don't have to wait like 4hrs to charge.
Depends on what you want to pay.

That’s a nice chart!
I wish FC610 had this much space in it.
For real! This is quite a bit bigger since the fc610 is technically a 1/12, but it needs more space for sure lol
Now I want fruit loops 😅
🤣🤣 I’m a Reese Puffs fan myself
I noticed redcat stopped selling that model.
Where can I buy it
There’s a link on the video description. Let me know if it doesn’t work.
w vid
Not bad😬🤔
Just saw it at Walmart for $80 and is advertised as coming with 2x 11.4v 3000mah batteries 😮. I guess it's really good if it's true
Oh ya? $80 is not too bad for what this is. But I doubt this one is rated for 11 volts. So maybe slightly different still.
0:40 this will be the first video, where the controller is smoking due to some serial overheating 😅😂🤣🤪
*Cereals=serial=serious 😉
🤣🤣 luckily it didn’t 🤣
Best for a 2s
Should have tried 3s with it lol

You need to send an old man a fun car to play with I have bought three it ain't nothing to them can't do what you do on your videos.
