Just brought this album. Been listening to Loreena for many a year now. But fell in love with Ms Faithfull when 1st heard Broken English in the early 80.s as a young man. To this day nothing has ever dissapointed me. And i love this album of classic poetry. Thank you Marrianne for entertaining me for over 40 years .

Lorena McKennitt, ah yes! I am not alone! I shall get to Marianne in a sec. I adore Loreena but within my very small circle of friends (remember Phil Ochs) and family, I listen to a terrific jazz station when the news is too much, so I feel alone regards Loreena. Had an argument with brother-in-law Celine D is Canada's greatest female vocalist, b.s. I yelled- irony was he had NEVER HEARD LOREENA, NOT EVEN AWARE OF HER EXISTENCE...His loss. NOW TO MARIANNE, LADY FAITHFULL AS SHE'S REFERRED TO IN OUR HOME...I am one of her most long running, how does one get around aging! I am younger than she but....Marianne has been my constant - how I put this in a poesy way? I am absolutely devoted to her even though I regard celebrity watching as foolish and boring. But she is a celebrity and worth watching! Long after The Stones ( great in concert but I can dig why Bill Wyman left and nowadays I prefer listening to Charlie Watts' Quartet- to each his own, but I haven't bought an album in years. Maybe replace their 1st album with a CD, Not Fade Away- Marianne on the other hand, I ferret out anything and where I live it can be hard, but the net made it much easier. I have never met her am afraid she wouldn't like me! Ironically because I am difficult and I think she is too, I say that in a positive sense, very complicated woman, but then WE ALL ARE. I'd slay a dragon for her! Well no! I rather think if there were dragons we should preserve them. She like me has had many metaphorical dragons to slay. A survivor, an elegant woman- beautiful, brainy, witty, bohemian, truly " interesting" read any book she recommends- in photos I always try to enlarge etc so I can make out the books! I love to watch Girl On A Motorcycle back to back with Irina Palm! Wish somebody would upload Hamlet, what an Ophelia! Needless to say it was my karma, the first time I saw her, those lips! and then the voice, even her name, had to be fake, a stage name, no- on the surface it was all there, Sacher- Masoch, a broke Baroness, a spy, a castle- what could be more Swinging Sixties zeitgeist than that. Most of the rest we know, this album - haven't bought it yet, skint, and pre-order price went up about 8 dollars- not happy! I will buy it, maybe I can find a "record store" remember browsing, flirting, chatting, turned on to a "new" artist- like Loreena! Or Mary Margaret O'Hara- always play fantasy duos, Marianne with Leonard, my male icon, like my idols tarnished, Marianne and Tom Waits, Marianne and Mary Marg- M2OH, Marianne and Nico, another unique, sad loss. BUY THIS ALBUM. I will act as The Under-Assistant West Coast Promo Man. Wild horses...Thank you dear Marianne ( next album please include Leonard's Beautiful Losers, God is Alive, Magic is Afoot and a book I RECOMMEND TO YOU MARIANNE AND ANYBODY IN PAIN, CRISIS OR A LOVER OF POETRY, The Book of Mercy. Namaste, Z ( Marianne please don't smoke I am in recovery too and rarely, rarely smoked but my hair stylist gave me a packet of Sobrani ciggies- so elegant and a great taste, real tobacco, but don't, for a fan, ok? Blown Away. I've heard the poem before (as we all have), but I really do think that you've hit those shivering moments that crack the dialogue so well. I'm looking at the Somerset levels right now and seeing the cropped willows and slow waters of that eternal image for myself. Thankyou.

Dear Marianne, I doubt you'll see this, I'm not on Facebook etc. so I'll try here- I wish you a most heartfelt Merry Christmas. I pray, I'll light that proverbial candle in the wind, strange weather! these days...Stay well, give draconian Omicron a "shove"...I hope you and family enjoy this rather commercial season in a unique way, you ARE a very unique woman, one I wish I could meet. A birthday soon - I always mark it. What's your favorite cake? Not that I bake! Will a macaroon be OK?! I wish you ALL THE HEALTH, HAPPINESS, CONTINUED SUCCESS FOR 2022 and I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR NEXT ALBUM. A corny Big Hug, I mean it, I'm nervous, you're so eloquent- people flippantly say, "oh I think about you all the time, everyday-" all that jazz, but I actually do. I hope your granddaughters look like you and that you've saved some of your incredible wardrobe- I've always loved your style. Namaste.
