- You probably remember our first impressions weren't very good and if you pay attention to instagram you saw that Nike has a lot to answer for especially to us goalkeepers.
The New Nike Mercurial Touch Elite is a total flop, it hit the markets just at the beginning of the month and there are several goalkeepers already posting up pictures of all their torn gloves (including mine)
Don't buy these gloves! save some many and check out my review on the Vapor Grip 3s that is coming out soon!

I’m a goalkeeper and for me any gloves work it’s about ability. I played in a final a couple of years ago and me and the oppositions keeper had the same gloves but we were completely different in ability

Hey Alberto I dislocated and minor fractured my shoulder yesterday and I was wondering if you knew how long recovery is? I miss being in goal and I miss saving shots 😂.. but your videos are cheering me up
Great review as always. Big up to Nike for trying something new and developing their own concepts rather than copying what they already know works. But my goodness did it fail horribly. Love the idea but these should never have been brought onto the market. Lets hope Nike improve their gloves greatly next season (or even sooner).
Hey Alberto, did Nike ever send you a “better” pair because they reached out to you saying it was probably where the glove was made from...and did they do or seem to want to do anything about the tearing?
Nope, Nike has gone quiet after answering my initial tweet. I think they were hoping the gloves were knockoff but I bought them legit and full price lol.. They haven't been in contact with me at all, I've been in contact with most companies I review but the big guys they don't seem to care about keeping the keeper community involved and informed
ARS Goalkeeping ya that sucks, it’s just about quantity not quality, well on that glove! That’s crappy by Nike...I was just about to consider buying a pair of Nikes, but not those lol I think I would consider west coast or nga as a better cheaper option
I've had 3 pairs of west coast and I can just say that they are amazing, every pair has lasted me 2 seasons before the latex quality is worn down by tearing and the stickiness of the latex is just as good, they also work well in all weather.
Hey boss, would you consider making a second review on these gloves based on the newer version (the black/blue ones)? Apparently the newer ones have a better durability rating.
When it comes to the cut of a glove, how does a keeper find out which one is most convenient? I’ve had predator pros and VP3’s as of recent. I’m curious about trying out a negative cut but not sure what the pros and cons of the cut are.

Love this vids! I need some gloves but don’t have much money I have about 30-40$ what do you recommend?
I really recommend the UHLSPORT Eliminator Super grip. One year in and they’re almost unscathed. Just tiny tears on the back side but the latex on front still sticks like glue, especially if sprayed with water before use
EDIT: I practice 3 times per week for 2 hours... so they’ve been through a lot of work

Just yesterday I thought to myself about a slim and slip on design such as this. Came across this video now and it's great to see that a brand like Nike is already experimenting with these. I would be a big fan of these slimmer, tight fitting and negative cut gloves because too many times I've gotten palms and fingers to the ball just to have the ball touch that extra centimetre and a half of latex off the fingertips, thumb and side of the palm just for the ball to end up in the back of the net - if you get what I mean. It's unfortunate to see this. Model hasn't achieved what if could have from the get go but I believe with then products of the future, us keepers will really make fewer in-game mistakes that result from glove issues. I'd really like to see a variant of latex or a new material that brings about more grip and comfort (not in thickness, but impact absorbing quality) when making a connection to the ball.
Hey! I am an 8th grader goalkeeper preparing to go into high school next year. I need a new pair of gloves, and I want them to have good handling, and a bit bulkier for punches. Any suggestions for gloves? I have been comparing the reusch Prisma Supreme G3 Fusion Ortho-Tec gloves and Nike Vapor Grip3 gloves.

I feel like Nike released these way to early. There are so many issues that I feel they’ve known about. Like I know from watching England training videos Jack Butland who is supposed to be the main endorsee of these only wears them for a little bit of a session before going back to the VG3. To me it seems like they tried to rush these out for the World Cup instead of figuring out all the flaws before releasing them.
Yea i watched some video of him using them and switching out to the vg3. It's just not ready and they needed much more testing to be done. The VG3 is a much better glove by leaps and bounds
I don't know how Butland would like these even thought he gets new pairs every game
Soccer Tekkerz honestly don’t think he does like them. He wears them only in training and wears the new VG3 for games. Even then he doesn’t wear them for a full training session he tends to switch back to the VG3 halfway through. Same goes with Ederson who only wears them in training.

He wore it once vs leicester but ended up letting in a goal which seemed that he was trying to catch the ball in the near post but it slipped I think and went into the net.
Every goalkeeper wears them only for training, because that´s some sort of an order directly from Nike. Nike wants to make a "match premiere" during a World Cup, so that´s will be the first time someone will use them in a match.

I got two pairs over a 6 month period.. they never ripped, but instead, the latex just worn out by the tips.. everything was perfect(for me), only thing wrong is durability

I’m looking into buying goalkeeper gloves for training, debating between a pair of J4K ultimate pro grip roll, that come with a buy one get one free, or the pulse NGT by the one glove comp. I currently hav Adidas predator gloves red and black with the 2 latex on the palm they're good but the latex is wearing after only 3 matches and 5 training sessions want another pair so they don't wear too quick thought these would be a gd back up clearly not

I need some advice so I play competitive level soccer as a keeper and have watched this channel for maybe 3 years any way today was tryouts and there are like 8 keepers trying out and there are like 6-7 teams so I have played there since I could when i was finally old enough but I just got put on the same team I have been on for 3 years except for they finally let us play with 11 players it’s so stupid but my whole team moves up because of the players needed but since I’m a keeper I stayed down and I am very disappointed because we were all friends and I was familiar with them all so we had good chemistry but now I have a brand new team full of other players I don’t know and there is another keeper who came from the last team anyway I need some advice on how to deal with this.

Ì like the pro touch 1000fs gloves as they are only 40€, and they have amazing durability. It has fingersaves and has a really good grip. It's also very cheap for some ppl so those are good pair of gloves if you are on a budget. Used mine for a month and they are really good but the latex comes of but it's not to bad. It can last at least 1 or 2 whole seasons
Well.. the second keeper on my team got those, ripped after 20 minutes of training at the first training session with them.. while I got a fresh pair of Adidas Trans. Pros.. like.. what am I supposed to compare here..
I bought simular glove but not from nike and they had a 5 star review is that good enough
have you try EvoSpeed gloves before? Those are without wrist straps as well but way more durable

alright i think you guys should give the bu1 roll finger gloves a try, they are a small company that i recently brought a pair of gloves from, the gloves are very durable as well as having a grippy palm while not being too expensive, i think that they are one of the best gloves i have especially for the price, i would prefer to wear them over the reusche g3 fusion which costed me over triple the price, check them out

I used Nike gloves once this season and after 4 games the grip and glove where gone, so it doesn't surprise me that these aren't that good.

My mercurial gloves lasted for about 5 training sessions, they ripped just as yours. Really poor quality, and I think am going to order the Predator pro or the Vapor grip 3 s

I’m not anti Nike, but just go for Adidas or Uhlsport gloves... or One Glove Co. I think best effectiveness to price ratio.. especially the negative cut ones for me as that’s my fit

Could you try lower scale Nike gloves like the Nike Grip 3 which is a take down model of the Nike Vapor Grip 3?

I myself is getting the same gloves, but white and orange version, too bad I saw this video right after!
Had a pair of these and went to a keeper training to break them in. The area between the thumb and index finger had a 4cm hole from the side directly to the middle. Holds were amazing but not at all worth the durability compared to price.
For me, beeing norwegian...it's become just to easy going with KLA. They are easy to get a hold of reasonably priced and in my opinion just as good as anything else with a big variation of gloves and cuts. Haven't bought a "big brand" pair in years. KLA are my go to gloves.

In my opinion they are designed for 1 match, high performance gloves for 90 mins but when it comes to durability they lack. This would be an ideal glove for pros cause they mostly use new gloves every game

ARS Goalkeeping I figured since I got mine yesterday and after a prewash, the grip was probably one of my favorites but can’t compare to the Uhlsport Supergrip
