- The PFC crew met Tinariwen, a group of Tuareg blues musicians, several years ago while filming in Bamako, Mali. After finding the perfect place to record, underneath a large tree with plenty of shade, the band began performing and soon a crowd of children gathered to enjoy the sounds. We invite you to join us in this magical moment and let the music soothe your soul.

ABOUT PLAYING FOR CHANGE:
Playing For Change (PFC) is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. The primary focus of PFC is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos called Songs Around The World. Creating these videos motivated PFC to form the Playing For Change Band-a tangible, traveling representation of its mission, featuring musicians met along their journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation-a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to building music and art schools for children around the world. Through these efforts, Playing For Change aims to create hope and inspiration for the future of our planet.

I think the melodies sound like from mali (maybe the touareg)
very similar to muritanian music
Chris Dealny yeah we're saying the same thing ;)
music history tells no lies. We can hear strong Chinese influence on this music. And even Sumerian.
Now, from Azawad

Very sad song. Its topic is: colonialism, ethnic discrimination, and oppression to which the ancient people of #Azawad# are subjected to their homeland #Azawad# by #monsters. #Monsters are the title of the song. What is meant by #monsters is the government of Mali and its ally, France, which helped them suppress and exterminate the people, and it was the one who gave them the land and handed it over to them. Today, its interests have ended and Wagner has arrived
