Let's not forget Ruben wrote this song, he Is 20 years old. That's his talent, he is able to tell a story in the songs he writes. Floor said she was more comfortable to sing in English, and her sister helpt with the translation. She's a great singer/ songwriter but she had also good material to start with. Ruben deserves the credit

If she ever decided to sing mainstream music, she would dominate the charts. No lip syncing,no autotune,no fancy choreography,just pure raw emotion. Perfection.
I will buy her records if she would do mainstream music, not streaming, I would buy it. She is beyond any level
Unfortunately with much of the mainstream music it is not so much about talent but about the right look and the right promotion. Not all of it of course, but certainly a good deal of the pop.
But pop is the look, autotune and catchy easy music.

I'm done.. i can't be having Floor make me cry like this. Between that angelic voice and that ridiculous smile, I just can't handle this. She's just too much. She is the definition of a vocal Goddess. She belongs in front of the mic. It doesn't matter what she sings... from opera to pop to metal, there isn't another person on the planet today that can do what she does so well and so consistently.

Ruben was crying already before the first singer had even begun and then he continued to cry throughout the entire show pretty much. Such an emotional roallercoaster for him! But what a wonderful experience he will remember for the rest of his life. ❤

I'm in my mid 60s and I've loved music since I was 5. Over the years, I've been asked which is more important. The singer or the song. My answer: "assuming a competent singer, always the song... but there are rare exceptions." This is one of those rare exceptions. Floor has taken a simple but lovely melody and transformed it into a heart wrenching, tear inducing, unforgettable song. It's not awe inspiring like some of her more power packed performances. But the subtlety and beauty of this performance has power which cannot be denied. Simply beautiful.

That said, I wouldn't put too much emphasis on view-count alone in judging the quality of a performance. But for me, Henk and Floor were the stand-out singers and performers of this years edition.

Can someone explain how Beste Zangers works? It doesn't seem to have any parallels here in England, is there a different theme each week or do they take turns singing in the style of the other singers each week or what?

Either one of their own songs or just a song that has a special meaning for the person in the spotlight. This clip is Floor singing one of Ruben's songs that she translated into English for his special episode.
In the short amount of time (4 months) I’ve know that Floor even existed, she’s ripped open my soul so many times I can’t even count. She truly has a gift to make you feel so deeply. Another outstanding performance!
I've been a fan since After Forever. She only digs deeper. There's no one else like her out there. The only other vocalist that has ever impacted me the way she does was Freddie Mercury.

it is more about the talk they had before she began to sing I think. Because they were tearing up already discussing this song Ruben wrote about the divorce of his parents and the fact that it took him long to accept it. But Floor ofcourse performs nicely ;)
When Floor sings, she has that rare talent of putting her emotions straight into the lyrics, so you can connect through both the words and the music at the same time. It's such a beautiful thing to experience...

but I definitely do not believe with Nightwish, since they have already participated in the ESC (2000) and unfortunately the jury decided against the clear result of the televoting and send someone else to the competition.
And, the new album will be released next year and i think probably the month May will be reserved for rehearsals of the new songs,
so that they sound perfect for the summer festivals 2020.

aber ich glaube mit Nightwish auf jeden Fall nicht, da sie ja schon einmal am ESC teilgenommen haben (2000) und sich leider die Jury gegen das eindeutige Ergebniss des Televotings entschieden hat und jemand anders zum Wettbewerb gefahren ist.
Hinzukommt noch, dass nächstes Jahr das neue Album erscheint und vermutlich der Mai dann für das Proben der neuen Lieder reserviert ist, um dann auf den Festivals im Sommer 2020 perfekt zu klingen.

@Amirus It's not a delusion, it's a matter of preference. There's nothing wrong with people getting goosebumps from this song. She sang it really well and made it emotional. You wouldn't get goosebumps with just anyone singing.
@Amirus Oh boy, we have a tough guy... You are exactly the type of person the other contestants thought Floor to be. But lucky for us and them she is versatile and capable of singing every genre she get her hands on. Look I love metal and a lot of other genres. But saying deluded people get goosebumps, only proofs how small your world is.

Is there anything she can't sing? She can sing opera, metal and pop ballad. She can growl, scream and also go very high notes. She can sing in different languages and she do it so natural. Most important - whatever she sings, she do it beautiful, natural, light and with unparalleled energy. Seriously - best female vocalist in the world, she has no equal.

Completely magic. This woman is a jewel. This power to touch so deeply anyone here on this planet, just with her voice, is above divine.
So I have watched all of the Best Zangers videos, where Floor sings. And in three of them she made the people she sang for cry, the blonde lady kept getting goosebumps and the rest could hardly stop smiling (and joy cursing 😁) And in everyone of her covers, it is so obvious she truly sings it FOR them, to appreciate and honor them. Which makes her even more incredible, as an artist and as a singer ❤ going to blow my nose now...
