Great feedback. Just curious, where do I find friends to help with mock interviews? :) Most of my friends are either not engineers or not senior enough to know how to deep dive or to evaluate my solutions.

Do you recommend designing the micro services first or the data model/schemas? I something find myself having designed some services only to find out I don't know how to join them with the data store; in other words once service needs a different view of the data than another service.

I would tell you what I do.. I design the micro services first. Also, the micro-services are supposed to have their independent data stores and not share them.

Yes. The course itself comprises of the design of different systems. The mock interview videos are not part of actual course but are available to anyone who buy the course as bonus.

Thanks for the comment. I have my course on System Design at www.thinksoftwarelearning.com. You can evaluate it by going through its free preview chapters. Then the other book is DDIA. However, DDIA is more theory and I think my course is more practical with discussions around how to design different systems, data models and design trade-offs. However, you could say that I am bias about my course but you can evaluate it from free chapters.
