- This will be a verse by verse explanation of 1 Corinthians 7 so as to put in proper biblical context what Paul taught on the issue of Marriage, Divorce and Remarriage.
If past spouses are abusive, disrespectful and stealing from you,it is necessary to divorce, move on to a partner that know how to treat you better!
Many will listen just to reply and not to understand. From the very onset, I knew that this series is not promoting divorce and remarriage but simply stating the biblical facts. Many spouses has suffered under the faulty teachings and felt "abandoned by God. What guide me in understanding your stance on marriage, are the words of Christ; but because of the hardness of your heart. And you said it in this presentation, marriage has challenges but submitting to God is what makes the difference. Many marriages end in divorce, i know the cases differ, many are due to the selfish heart of man. God bless you my brother.
Well said my brother.
Brother in Christ very good teaching on marriage, divorce and remarriage. I'm going through the same situation as you explain. I'm in a second marriage and my wife heard a pastor name Geno Jennings say that we're in a constant adulterous marriage, and she have to divorce me to save her soul. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Brother in Christ...❤
@Mauricedelbe
Gino is not handling the word of God rightly on this teaching. Y’all both have to understand the difference in putting away and divorce. Ask the Father to give y’all this understanding 👏🏾✊🏾
Even God said to Israel I'm still married to you.

What a blessing, thank you so much! God bless 💕
You're welcome. Happy to be of assistance in bringing some clarity to this issue.
This is wrong
State how it is wrong
Precisely, my problem with some individuals is that it's easy to state that something is wrong or right without providing any biblical reason to support their point of view.
Very comprehensive work
Thank you, God be praised for his wisdom and truth!
Thank you! Such a blessing!
Question: Does the husband need to be the one who initiates the divorce on paper, in order for it to be valid?
God be praised! It's good to know that you found the presentation to be a blessing.
In biblical times, it was the husband who normally initiated the divorce proceedings seeing that it was a Patriarchal society.
However, in modern times, either the husband or wife can initiate or file for divorce and it would be valid in any case.
Similar to the Bible, there are laws governing how that's to be done as well.
Remember that divorce should always be the last resort after all attempts at reconciliation have failed.
I am all for the promotion of marriage and the peaceful coexistence between the husband and his wife.
Thank you brother! God bless!
@@imkinganton ask him if God does not change to show you where God say because of modern times my law change. Chapter and verse you see people want to believe whatever it is suitable for them that's not God's way
@@ScripturesUnlocked where in the bible God say you can remarry pls provide chapter and verse. And not your understanding
the exception, in the New Testament is fornication...not who initiates the divorce.....
not under bondage is not akin to not being bound....something that had just been expressed...
Thank you for your teaching. I do have a question regarding Romans 7:3. Am I understanding this verse correctly when it says that the woman shall be called an adulterous if she becomes another man's. But if her husband dies she is free from that law, is this saying she becomes an adulteress if she does not divorce her husband and becomes another man's wife. Because the way this was explained to me since I am in this situation is that the only way you can get married again is if your spouse dies? I do understand Deuteronomy 24:1 through 4 though. Since this verse in Romans does not specify the divorce aspect is where I am having trouble. Thank you
Hi Dawn, Thanks for the question. Romans 7:3 is speaking about a woman who "marries" another man while still being married to her husband.
As long as her husband is ALIVE and they remain married, then having a relationship with any other man is adulterous.
However, if they divorce, then the marriage comes to an end and she is free to marry another man.
The same is true if her husband is dead. This is simply what the passage is saying.
Notice as well that in verse 3, the Scripture still refers to the man as "her husband" because they have a legal and binding marriage contract.
The way it was explained to you is WRONG because God has made provision for divorce and remarriage. God ordained the institution of marriage, so only He has the right to dictate how marriages ought to be governed and His will on the matter is found in Deuteronomy 24:1-4.
@@ScripturesUnlocked I have a better understanding now, thank you so much for responding!
You're most welcome. It's my pleasure to help others have a better understanding of the Scriptures.
@@dawnharmon2769 this is wrong

Errors here
This is the problem wen me has interpret the bible their own way.
Someone needs to correct Geno cause he's teaching the wrong things when it comes to divorce and remarriage. He's destroying alot of marriages... this is not the teaching of God, we're supposed to help save marriages not destroy them right? Brother in Christ...❤
That is correct, all effort must be made to reconcile and save marriages but in the event that one of the parties or both are unwilling to reconcile then God has made provision in His Word for divorce and remarriage to take place.
@@ScripturesUnlockedthere is no such thing as divorce & remarriage you hypocrite. Jesus is Crystal clear on that.
@canaan1294 Go and read Deuteronomy 24:1-4 and see if what you just posted is an accurate statement. What exactly am I hypocritical about?

@@ScripturesUnlocked simple " what I join together let no man separate so two become one. Noman means no man period. Thats your interpretation show me were the two become one again by the bible not your interpretation. And number to ain't no believer of God suppose to have a hard hart, did not Jesus say forgiveness is key it was not limited to adultery it's all sin, also if a woman departs from her husband she is to remain unmarry or be reconcile to her husband, in other words God gives you to option either be with him or stay alone period. @@Tobesetfree777excatly 💯Scricpture is crystal clear
You contradict yourself.
Paul mentioned it’s ok for an unbeliever to separate and you even state that right after you said it was wrong for any man to separate
What you don’t understand and it’s because the way you were taught and the way I was taught because some translators substitute divorce for put away or send away. They are two different things. The Pharisees asked about putting away. Not divorce. That why Jesus said whoever puts away his wife and married one that is put away commits adultery. It’s because if one is putt Away with out a certificate of divorce they are still married

Use a Greek lexicon to see the original language
Or just look at the KJV. They state it as put away. Then look at where the use of the original words is used in the Bible. You will see that iit is not divorce
