I loved hearing your whole story. I can relate to jumping in and buying all the sizes first before figuring out what you want. I also want an angel Philia at some point. >_< good luck in future dolly buys. I am going to do a story too of my evolution
My first year collecting dolls I went way too fast with dolls too. Not crazy but faster than I wish I had looking back. It took awhile for me to identify what I really like (sds) I totally get what you are saying. I have a book like that too that I keep dates and prices of dolls I bought
I can relate to the appeal of variety... I have all sizes and kinds of dolls. I do go on kicks, though... Fairyland have been my only bjd purchases this year. I'm looking to put a Loongsoul on layaway this weekend, though. I'm excited another company produced a doll I couldn't live without. I'm just worried there's going to be a Mandrak coming out in Dec that I have to get. I have heard rumors. I am actually in the middle of opening my first Azone ex-cute doll, but I can no longer resist them since I have never experienced them. She's a great doll and now I'm in trouble because she won't be the last. :) So begins a new obsession. BTW I'm 40 and hide my new dolls when my mother comes over to my house. Ppl outside of the hobby have no idea... I had to point out she has 10 times the clothes as I have dolls. Granted, she doesn't know how much dolls cost, but still, it's a good point. I have 2 loongsoul dolls and I love them I was tempted by the large dragon boy they did not to long ago. Mandrak? I only know that as something from harry potter lol are you referring to some type plant doll? I want an azone so bad but i have not been able to find one i love that is not hard to find (also inlove with the 1/3 Utena doll they did) My mom no longer really cares b/c she knows i pay my bills and i have a saving account set up for emergency that i wouldn't touch for dolls. Now I have a live in boyfriend who is like didn't you just get/order a doll lol
Sorry, Mandrak Moors Fairyland doll. :) Sionna was my first FL, but I missed out on Lunnula and have been regretting it for nearly 2 years. The longer I have Sionna the more I love her, and the more pics of Lunnula I see, the more I like her. I'm a horrible insomniac, so I do a lot of late night doll stalking when I'm not in the best frame of mind. I find all kinds of dolls that will all the sudden appeal to me. I'd avoided Anime style dolls (excluding Nendoroid) for years for various reasons, but late one night stumbled across a pre-order for the Azone Ex-cute on AmiAmi and have been obsessing over them lately. There's a 2D company bjd that I've been wanting to order, and I think that actually pushed me over the edge for an Anime/Azone doll.
LMB925 ohh sorry I have a hard time keeping up with all the names of sculpt but I understand I'm just waiting for fairyland to crush me with a 1/3 sized centaur that I can't pass up uhhh I used to have a really hard time sleeping but now that I work 10 hour shifts in a physical job I knock out. I wish we could have met. I use to go to AZ when they were at the Sheraton that was before I moved to Florida. I still have family friends down there but never had a chance to visit when the con is going on.
