  • A quick walkthrough of the settings on the 2024 Vespa GTS Supertech dashboard. Don't bother pairing your phone. It's still buggy and cumbersome.

You no doubt saved many an owner a load of frustration. Nice to see an honest appraisal. Vespa needs to get this right. High tech doesn’t seem to correlate to high satisfaction or usability.

I love my GTS Supertech, but yeah, fully agree. That entire connection process needs a revamp. Thank you for watching.

Pairing the tech with my iPhone has been one of the main considerations for me when contemplating which 300 to upgrade to. Now I’m not so sure based on your remarks. Maybe I’ll let body color guide me and save several $100 dollars. 🤔

It certainly can be paired but like I eluded to in the video, I’ve tried to make a video about how to pair it about four times and end up getting so damn frustrated with it not connecting or not connecting consistently that I just get pissed off and give up.
Also, if your helmet communication device battery dies or you forget to attach it or wear a different helmet that doesn’t have one (etc. lots of variable scenarios here), your phone still automatically connects to the scooter every time you turn it on. You manually have to go in and shut off the Bluetooth connection otherwise if somebody calls you while that’s enabled you cannot answer the phone and talk to them because the bike will take over the connection and they will be talking to a bike and you can’t hear them or talk back to them.
Honestly it would be better to just get a cell phone mount on your mirror and you can see who is calling you and then just press the button on the helmet to take the call into your Bluetooth communicator that way and worst case you just pull over and take the call like any normal person would while not riding. And the mapping with Waze, Google, or Apple Maps is going to absolutely dominate the Vespa mapping system that has no realtime traffic or road closure data available.
Oh, and if I recall correctly you can’t preview most messages coming from an iPhone because they’re encrypted iMessages. I think only SMS comes through as readable on the dash last time I tried. AND I had trouble getting it to persist the name of the contact calling me. Instead it would just show the 10 digit phone number, not the contact name saved in my phone. Before owning a Vespa shop I worked in corporate IT for a division of Home Depot and so the rudimentary functionality and poor usability of this just drives me nuts.
      Anyway, thanks for watching! 😂

Not knowing most of this until I bought the supertech ,you also don't get an engine temperature gauge unless you pair a phone to it otherwise it's just a light.

I hope Piaggio is paying attention, because that app is a hot mess.
