The drivers door must be open to add fuel. Poor design, it will cause the interior to fill with fumes plus a safety concern.

The fuel area is a separate partition. Only the lip of the left edge of the fuel door goes under the driver door for locking purposes. If you look at the design closely the fueling area is well outside of the weatherstripping for the door. Even leaving the fuel cap off would not result in fumes in the cabin provided the door was properly closed. This design has been in service since 2007 and is tried and proven. It is one of the longest running and most successful chassis by any manufacturer. Thank you for watching.

You open the drivers door to open the fuel door ( no one can get to the fuel cap with the front doors locked) after fuel door is open you can now close the drivers door to remove the fuel cap to add fuel, no fumes can get into the coach.

@@frankattheshop after you open the drivers door to open the fuel fill door you close the drivers door then remove the fuel fill cap and add fuel, no fumes get into the coach while filling because the drivers door is now closed.
