Hey everyone!
I am so thrilled to share two diy projects with you. This is the first time I tried making a jute rug and I think it turned out really cool! Let me know your thoughts on both the diys.

+ Jute rope - Dollarama
+Felt Fabric - Dollarama
+ Paint - Folk art chalk paint in the shade RICH BLACK and Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint in the shade WHITE
+ Glass Vase & Fish Bowl - Dollarama

I want to make a jute rug for outside use. I'm not sure felt would be the best backing. What else might you suggest?
Hi there! 🙋🏻♀️ I think using an outdoor cotton sheet or a plain rubber door mat as backing instead of felt could be a better option for outdoor use. I believe these would be durable enough to withstand various weather conditions ❤️
The rug is beautiful...tell me...is it very heavy...can it be hung on the wall with Command strips?
Thank you so much Michelle!! I’m so happy you liked it ❤️ It is a bit heavy I’m not sure if command strip could hold it..maybe we can try using heavy duty command strips or we can stitch a piece of rope on its back and hang it on a nail

How much jute you needed to make this carpet?
Hie Rashmi 🙋 I think I needed atleast 250 metres..it was a big spool and on the top of that I needed more because I ran out of jute🙊.. Also I would recommend going for a bit thicker rope like about 3-4 mm diameter for the best look💖
How many meters of the rope did you use?
Hey Ritu! I used about 250-300 meters.. I recommend keeping aside some extra rope just in case we run short 😊❤️

Can we wash this rug ?
Hi Aishwarya ❤️ I wouldn't recommend washing since it could damage the natural fiber. Instead we can give it a good shake to remove any dust particles. If there is any tough stain we can do spot cleaning with a toothbrush dipped in a little amount of dish soap+water and then wipe it with a cloth☺️

Always with the glue gun
Gluegun is extremely convenient since hotglue dries fast! But we can always feel free to use any other options!
