Good one Chris. Now the rebirth will happen faster than you can believe. At 77 yrs I have seen it many times.Born & raised in that region. I live in North Qld now with the bush at my back fence.If it burnes each 2 years or so it is not a problem, but if it goes for 5 or more we have a real problem.When the under storey fuel gets too high that is when you see the trees black right to top of the canopy. thank you for a great vid . I know you will keep us posted on the revival, I think it will be spectacular, as always.

@@69fangs69 seen the doco mate, but its got nothing to do with this this.. The fires only killed s few people where as cigarettes, alcohol and drugs have killed thousands... This is just called nature. It has to burn to regrow. And just think, all the illegal rubbish and foreign campers have been ridded from our bush and not it will regrow back to what it was like when I was a kid in the early 90's, more beautiful than ever(:

Awesome ... on so many levels, the recovery, the devastation, the re growth, and the ocean apparently oblivious ... thanks for the reassurance that you're all well and knowing the south coast & the postie is back in business.
To say the forested areas are in rough shape would be an understatement. Nature is an amazing self healer however. A fire burned out some 92,000 acres in northern Minnesota’s Boundary Waters Canoe Area in 2011. The wilderness came back to life quickly due to “self fertilization “. The animals will rebound too, but it will take years. On a lighter note, I can’t believe that little bike stands up to all that abuse, I mean love.

Another awesome vid Chris it had a little bit of everything. The bush has a way of bouncing back no matter how bad it gets burnt and the unburnt stuff looks great the Cycads are amazing looking plants and everything else looks great

So funny seeing the kids at the end. The sliced abalone looked like little animals being fried! 😂 Lovely to see the regeneration in the bush already and let’s hope the fauna makes its way back soon too. We finally had some rain this week and the Mt Buffalo fires are no longer a threat to us. It’s so nice to sleep without that monster in the hills hovering over us.
Now thats service ya pull up and get a cuppa shoved in ya hand, great work mate.

So sad to see such horrific destruction, but from fire comes renewal, as they say. I haven't eaten today, but those meals of shrimp with Laksa and the Abalone Caesar Salad have me salivating. Dude, that was special. I watched with a bit of a lump in the throat after all your region has been through. A mate's brother has been with Nat Parks down your way for 25 years and he can hardly speak after witnessing the scale of destruction, especially to the animals. Devastating to one and all and it's fantastic to see some regen happening. It's a tough country all right but to see green bursting through the black speaks to the resilience of our environment.
