    This is amazing and I learnt so much from video and comments! I don’t use an oven or citric acid - I had given up on this sort of design because it ends up so soda ash covered (v hard water here) so I stick to loaves. I have watched USA soap makers that use ovens switched of but British ovens don’t stay wa

      @victoriarawlings689 Před 3 lety

      Sorry clicked return by accident ... US ovens are warm when oven light is on - I think our ovens are more energy efficient! Do you actually set temperature to 75 degrees? I would be scared!! x

    • @luciesteblovakantorova
      @luciesteblovakantorova  Před 3 lety

      Thank you so much for the comment! I really appreciate it! Yes, I use the oven for all my soaps, but it really depends on my recipe, if I pour the soap in an emulsion or in a medium trace. It also depends of water in the recipe - soda ash likes to form because of high water. Otherwise, I have no problem with soda ash. If I have it, just a little. However, each oven bakes differently, so I couldn't say how much someone else should put the oven on. It must be tried. 😊

    I have never heard of Citric Acid in soap, may I ask what is its purpose in a CP soap batter or loaf? These birds within the bars are so beautiful and you are a gifted soap artist.

    • @luciesteblovakantorova
      @luciesteblovakantorova  Před 4 lety +1

      Thank You so much for Your kindly feedback! Citrate (is the result of citric acid with lye) is very important when you have hard tap water at home. After that, no lime soap settles on the bathtub, which is formed when the soap is used. :-)

    May I ask you if 1) You have used a slow-trace c.p. recipe ? 2) Have you put your mold in the oven (170 degrees F) for 1 hour ? and lastly have the colors of the birds stayed true a long time ? These soaps are really wonderful and would make it a try hé hé ! Thanks again :)

    • @luciesteblovakantorova
      @luciesteblovakantorova  Před 3 lety

      So sorry, I found Your comment until now. So, 1. yes, I have a slow-trace recipe. You have to have really light trace, better just emulsion. 2. Yes. I put my mold in the oven - I have mostly 60-70 C. And time depend on recipe. The color of the birds are micas, so they stay a long time. Thank You so much for Your comment!!! I hope I help, even after a long time 🙈😊

    I tried it but I had many small bubbles ! How to get rid of ?

    • @luciesteblovakantorova
      @luciesteblovakantorova  Před 4 lety +1

      I had some bubbles in the surface too. I pierced some of them with skewer (I hope I found right word for it). And in the end I used planer on surface (but just only a little). But I think it is important to pour batter directly to the surface, not to pour from height. Also You can get the bubbles from mixing and in this case You have to be next time carreful. Thank You so much for watching!
