Yamane technique on SimulEYE model

This is a demonstration of the SimulEYE artificial practice eye being used for a Yamane double needle fixation of an EC3 Pal lens. This is an excellent model for practice and teaching of this technique.

Hi, Dr Safran, love all your great videos! Do you have any experience with the old CeeOn 911A lens for the Yamane technique? It has a silicone optic with PVDF haptics, and measures 12mm. I ask this because a patient subluxated this lens following blunt trauma. Do you recommend trying to Yamane-fixate the existing lens or to do an IOL exchange?

I would exchange the lens. Those haptics are not really suitable for Yamane.....they are not shaped like normal haptics.

Which cautery is used for haptic flange?

I use a high temp disposable cautery.
