They even address the fact that there are multiple prince charming blood lines, which I always found that part hilarious but I appreciate them being so self aware in those situations

The website used to be entirely dedicated to the series. The episodes were launched there. We had a game where you could choose your character, decorate your room, etc. And yes you could buy the dolls too, but it was so much more than it is now. It's too sad that EAH never got the ending it deserved.

I love how they portrayed Briar Rose as someone who’s afraid/reluctant to sleep. It’s a really fresh perspective on the Sleeping Beauty story/franchise. In Wreck it Ralph 2, Shrek, or Charming, they all portray Sleeping Beauty as a narcoleptic. It’s nice to see Briar Rose as someone who’s afraid and avoidant of sleep. Sleeping for a hundred years is a curse not a personality.
Briar still has narcolepsy as far as I'm aware but it's realistic in a way that it's not just a silly thing that she's okay with, it actively impacts her life in a negative way. There's a whole episode about it if I remember correctly.

Briar’s story is a nice and fresh perspective of Sleeping Beauty’s incarnations in media. Like, I said, they made her personality as “sleeping”. That’s why Briar’s version of Sleeping Beauty is really good.
Same! It's such a logical take on it, nobody would be happy to sleep for so long. Waking up to an entirely different world is bad enough, but when they have lives and friends before they sleep like Briar does then that's even worse, because one of the first things that she'd feel after waking up would be grief for her long-dead friends she may not have ever gotten to say goodbye to.

Compared to every other girls' doll media, Ever After High is truly the one with the best stories and best animation. It's so well made and so underrated.

Actually, Ashlynn Ella didn't get 300 pairs of shoes and A glass slipper, she got 300 pairs of shoes FOR The Glass Slipper, which is the name of her shop.
Also, the reason Apple White is respected and adored so much is because her mother, Snow White, was the very first fairytale princess (from the line of Disney princesses at least).
So technically, when Snow White road off with her Prince Charming to live a happily ever after, in a way, she's considered to be the first Queen before all the other princesses followed after with their happily ever afters. Which I guess in Ever After High, Snow White is THE Queen for being the first original princess and all.

Honestly it's so interesting to look back at the first episode and see how much seems sorta random but will eventually get an explanation. Like Briar Beauty seems very random and spontaneous for seemingly no reason but later on in the series she makes a rlly good point for why she acts the way she is which is honestly sorta sad and completely reasonable

Damn, I totally forgot how absolutely amazing Ever After High’s theme is. I mean it’s always been one of my favorite theme songs (I never skip it when I’m rewatching the show) but now as a young adult the line, “it’s a rebel cause, with a royal heart” hits so much harder. It’s like saying that some times you have to rebel for the good of so many people and that’s okay but don’t forget about the good and “royal” heart that you have. I legit teared up, not gonna lie.
So the reason characters are classified as Royal or Rebel is about whether they choose to follow their destiny (this happens later in the show and why you should keep watching). Someone like Raven is a Rebel because she is rebelling against her destiny even thought she technically is royalty. Blonde Locks (Goldilocks’ daughter) is a Royal because she chose to follow her mum’s footsteps even though she’s not royalty.
Is not really that,the daughter of beauty sleeping is a royal and she choose to not follow her destiny. The royals are as they name said the child’s of the royalty original characters,like Snow White is a queen and the others princess etc.
And the rebels are the child’s of the villains or characters that are not royalty,like the son of Alicia or the mad hatter.

God, I ADORED Ever After High. It was exactly my aesthetic growing up (still is now) and the writing is sooo witty and immersive and ughhh. One of my favourite things is that they have their own slang. Monster High had it too and even though it's seems so minor the world having it's own slang terms and sayings just makes it feel much more alive and lived in and fjdidbebejdb I love rewatching the whole series so much.
Fr!! I freaking did an english presentation on how amazing this show is 😭💜 as a graphic design student and a fan of great world building, I completely fell in love with Ever After High
Bro I highly recommend reading the books and/or watching the series. They all are written so well. Raven ends up forming a type of revolution against the act of continuing the books stories, and some of the royals even join in as well. It all discusses the darkness of their situation, and questions if anyone is selfish to want a certain life for themselves. It brings light to the fact that even some of the people that have a happy ending would have to go through immense trauma to get there, and they don’t want that. It’s SO good.

The website used to be way different. Back it’s hay day, it was like a themed, interactive website. There was even a voting page for the “thronecoming” Queen, and whichever character won would actually win in the show.
PLEASE watch more because Ever After High is legitimately such a fun show both conceptually and comedically.

Part 2 PLEASE! (Also, watching on Netflix would be the better idea because it has all of it, and they're condensed down into actual "episodes" instead of the shorter CZcams videos.) As someone who grew up with this show and still absolutely LOVES it, I'm living for the fact that (almost) all the questions you asked during this actually get answerd later on in the show because the show was actually well thought out. And also (minor spoilers for later in the show so stop reading if you don't want that)
If the show had been allowed to continue, they would have made it GAY! Like, actual explicit romance between Apple and Darling. The kiss scene should be enough to convince you of that, but the actual writers went on record and said that was the direction they would have taken the show. So sad it got cancelled because of Disney's Descendants blowing up. The last season really didn't feel like a finale.

You should definitely watch more episodes. Everything gets explained and a lot of characters change throughout the series. It’s definitely worth watching.
God you have no idea how loud I screeched when I saw this. In my humble opinion, Ever After High will forever be the 2010s show that did EVERYTHING right. You want plot? You got it. Character design and arcs? You got it. Diversity? You got it. When I say this show is a masterpiece I am NOT joking. It deals with so many common problems in such a magical way and is just so fucking entertaining as it does it.

Bro every after high has a novel series that holds up to this day. I reread them recently and they’re still so good. They’ve got a legitimate sense of peril and the plot is immensely interesting.

Weird casual dude is Hunter Huntsman son of the huntsman from I think Red Riding Hood 5. Hansel and Gretel have 1 kid each and they're cousins and 6. So much drama is involved to further the story so PLEASE continue watching

Y'know the deeper you get into the story, the more deeper the story IS. Ive watched almost all of the episodes and the episode where they pledge their destiny's is my favorite

The first thing I did with this series was fall in love with Raven. She should not have to go against her morals to make others happy. Also the more the story goes on the more I wanted to scream at Apple.
People hate Apple but I always try to see her perspective. She cannot help how she was educated about life. She does things that we see as selfish but she doesn't see it that way because she doesn't understand the world like other people do. It's hard for me to be mad at her.

I was so sad when this got canceled because of -disney- and we didn't get to see the ending of the show, but there are so many good seasons before that and it honestly is one of the most well-written and interesting shows i watched when I was younger! They dive into more deeper topics too like identity issues and where you belong among other things so no, you didn't get too deep with your analyses, and you were pretty spot on :)

The designs are very pretty, the story is great and characters are well-written. "Am I digging in too deep?" No you're not, Ever After High really IS that deep!
I would personally love to watch you react to more episodes. For a kid's show that was made pretty much solely to sell toys it does the characters really well, showing different perspectives and reasons for wanting to follow Destiany vs not and different reasons for that (for example I really don't like Apple very much since i thinks she's really self-absorbed but I understand her motivations) over all is just a surprisingly good show.
Ahhh I love EAH! It's one of the best pieces of media (made to originally sell dolls) to exist. The writing is clever, the charater designs and costumes are god fabulous and the characters are just so well written. The songs are bangers, and the storyline is AMAZING! Even Wonderland logic makes sense in it's own way!
they were actually working on a crossover movie between monster high and ever after high, the post credit scene in boo york shows astronova talking to apple and raven. unfortunately it never finished but theres still artwork and lines from it on the internet. Theres a book based on that story too called “the legend of shadow high.”

Edit after watching video: I'm so glad you don't immediately hate Apple, the fandom treats her like pure evil even though she was pressured by others to follow her destiny, just like literally everyone else. Sure, she wants to be queen, but she also cares for others. Sure, she can be pretty selfish, but that's what makes her a good character- She would be perfect otherwise.

In this case "Royal" just means that they are following their destiny. They aren't necessarily actually royalty because later in the show their are "evil" royals as well.

I am glad you have an open-mind about Apple’s perspective. Briar and Daring get character development. Briar is 1 of my favorite characters and she has an interesting storyline.
There is one character in this series that is also apart of Monster High and it’s Cupid! She travels between worlds and it was so cool when we found out it’s canon!

You should absolutely keep watching, because as the show continues, the original plot develops so much more with twists that you probably won't expect. And in my personal opinion, the wonderland arc of this show is way too good to miss out on.

The first couple episodes are the most lore packed, I’m very glad you decided to check this out!
The thing I love about Ever After High is the inherent theme of classism where villains and their children are marked from birth and shunned by society, and they can either embrace that or rebel against it, like the difference between Raven Queen and Faybelle Thorn. Then there’s the favoritism of royal characters, leaving the non-royal characters overlooked and sidelined even if they’re the main character of their own stories, like how Blondie Lockes is a Royal but not really, she’s in Royal social circles but she doesn’t enjoy the privileges of royalty, or Hunter Huntsman having to secretly date Ashlynn Ella because her status as royalty makes it a social taboo to date below her station, especially with a character in as liminal a role as the Huntsman, who shows up in the stories of both Snow White and Red Riding Hood. Mattel probably didn’t want to explore these themes too much, they just wanted to sell toys, which is why Ever After High is no longer an active franchise sadly.
I headcanon that the world of Ever After High is very much intertwined with whatever force is behind Fate, which is how things just sorta work out for certain characters (like Briar jumping out the window and Daring just happening to be standing right where she’d need to be caught to survive), and the more characters diverge from their destinies the more chaotic the world becomes because Fate has to account for all these new variables. So a character won’t poof out of existence if they don’t sign onto their predetermined destinies, but Fate won’t exactly know what to do about them so more chaotic things will happen within their lives.
Also if you’re on board, would love to know what fairytale most resonates with you, maybe a favorite folktale, and maybe you could imagine yourself as a child of that fairytale in Ever After High
You have to finish the series, I believe you will love it. It is cheesy and dramatic but the story is so well written and many different parts of the show tackle serious issues in a fun and good way. Also, the few songs in the show slap!
I love how invested you are in the lore! I can't wait what you'll think of Raven's perspective and of course, legacy day! >:D Ever After High truly is a master piece and seeing you enjoy it just brings me and so many others joy. Like one of our fave CZcamsrs dives into one of our most loved shows growing up. :)) Please consider making a part 2, or even series (no rush)
There's actually books for this serie, and I actually always prefered the main trilogy to the cartoon serie...Apple White is very much less bitchy in there, and her motivations are even more understandable. The books also container more lore and stuff, and helps you understand the characters better (Especially Apple)

Please please please watch more!! There are actually many princes and princess who don’t want to follow their destiny, and you get to learn more about them in depth as the series goes on. It’s really good, especially since for some characters, you typically think them shallow until you learn something about more that has you see them in an entirely different light
Please keep watching this is such an amazing show! Yes they are part of the same universe one of the characters even crosses over from being on monster to ever after high.
One thing I love about all the Charmings is that since they can't pledge, they DON'T get the legacy they expect. And the unexpected leads to obstacles leading to growth and potential character development.
I also like seeing the kids follow in their parents' footsteps in unexpected ways and reinventing the tales.
Spoiler warning :
I think Ashley's "prince" won't be a Charming, and the three siblings will end up playing the parts of Prince Adam, The Good King (from Snow White ??) (maybe) and Prince Florian (from Snow White) but not in the way they were supposed to.

Although the show introduces characters as "daughter/son of [...]" it doesn´t mean that they are the actual child of the original fairytale charatcer, they r more like the descendant, the great-great-great-great-great-whatever-grandchild, there already were multiple different Snow Whites before Apple and after the original Snow White, same with all the other fairytale characters
Please please PLEASE watch the whole series on your channel!!!!! There’s so much character development and lore you need to explore and I’d love to see it!!!!

i absolutely loved these books and the show and they just got even better after diving deeper on raven and the other character’s stories. it is really good and interesting for it being a “kids show” still mad it got cancelled
As a mom, and like most moms watch almost all the shows her kids watch and mostly too many times if they like the show or not. This show was one of the few shows I didn't mind hearing all the time. Plus the theme song was always great to hear.
duuudee i grew up with the books and eventually this show, i remember loving the hell out of them. growing up it was one of the first stories aimed at kids that i saw and felt actually had interesting character dynamics and motivations, and clashes between them.
The show is reminding you of a story book and your fairytale nostalgia as a young kid... plus it has an interesting plot. 🙂👍
Please keep watching the series is so good. All the questions they asked they will be answered in the small episodes, the specials and some of the movies. The next episode takes place in the first day of school except that it's from Raven's (daughter of the evil Queen) perspective.
