ANVIL STAND | Short Story of an Oak Stump with Metal Strap

  • This is a short story of we making a new anvil stand for my old anvil out of a really old oak stump. The stump was cracked in several spots, so we decided to forge and fabricate a metal strap around it. Thank you my friend, Peter for helping me out with this project! Thanks for watching!

    Great to see someone use the router sled to flatten the top. I have used the sled to flatten an old woodworking workbench.

    Hi, great video. I am new to the smithing world and have got myself an Oak stump. Due to Oak being prone to splitting i am looking at banding my stump. I was curious what material you used here and the measurements of the metal banding? My stump looks to be roughly the same size as yours.
