I've never been to NYC and it's interesting to see it though your eyes. I also love seeing the different types of foods you and your friends try while out together. Considering that I live in a rural county in North Carolina it's rather surprising how many different restaurants we have from different countries. We actually have 2 incredible Thai restaurants owned and operated by people from Thailand. We have an Indian restaurant and 3 Italian. There are a few different Asian restaurants from China and Korea and2-3 that II'm not sure which country they are actually from because they sell food found in multiple Asian countries and include Sushi and Japanese steakhouse vibe meals along with noodles. Because we have a large population of people from Mexico and a few South American countries we have 5 Mexican restaurants. You might not have ever heard of the Andy Griffith show which is actually still popular and watched in countries all over the world even though they stopped making new episodes back in the 1960-70s, but the main actor was Andy Griffith who was a real person who created the show and based it on his hometown of Mount Airy North Carolina. In the show he named it Mayberry and the other big city they went to for date night was Mount Pilot which is actually named Pilot Mountain after the uniquely shaped mountain that is near the small city. We moved here in 2000 ,but my family actually has a long history in the state of North Carolina and my Mom's sister and my Aunt Janet owned property in the county where I live, but she sold it shortly before my parents moved to Galax Virginia which is50 minutes north west and further up in the BlueRidge Mountain range. My Great Grandfather had owned a large farm Estate in Hendersonville NC which is in the mountains in the western area of the state and not that far from Asheville NC which is known for the Biltmore Estate owned by the Vanderbilt family. My Great Grandfather used the Estate farm to grow and raise most of the food needed to raise his extremely large family that included 18 children who survived to adulthood. Most of the year they lived in Coral Gables Florida, but they spent most of the summer months in Hendersonville which was much cooler during the summer than Florida. The family owned and operated multiple different businesses that employed the sons in the family and a few of the girls before they got married. They actually had a chain of 15+ stores that sold building supplies and hardware and lumber which were spread out through Florida back in 1915-1970s when they eventually sold them as the brothers were reaching retirement age. They still had their financial and accounting businesses. It was really sad when my Grandpa's house was sold after he passed away at the age of 92. I only have pictures of some of different houses
