Nick was selected by the Washington Wizards in the first round of the 2007 NBA draft after leaving USC following his junior year. During his NBA career, he is averaging 12.2 points per game. *Me watching basketball players making 3's* *The ball flies from their hand and into the net* *When I try to shoot, my shoulder hurts, I jump and sometimes stagger*
Relax your shoulders when u shoot
What you want to do is shoot on the side of your dominant hand. What I mean by that is you wanna pull up on the side of your dominant hand and dip to your leg (if you're right handed, your right leg, if you're left handed, your left leg) and keep it on that side.
Turn your shoulder of your shooting hand to the rim lean your shoulders back jump forward you want your feet in front of your body shoot before the peak of your Juno on the way up

One more thing, I think how you shoot the ball is what makes the shot sexy... It's not sexy cuz it's a 3. Unfortunately, this is not the video that kids learning how to shoot should be watching because what I'm seeing in the gym these days, is kids jacking up 3's and can't make a layup or midrange. Their first shot when they enter the gym is a "sexy" 3-pt shot. I guess they wanna shoot the 3 cuz it's sexy. Which leads them shooting a midrange like it's a sexy 3 which results in an ugly brick. I never understood why I should leave my hand up until the ball is in the net. After throwing the ball, the position of my hand will not affect the flying path / speed / angle of the basketball in any way. Please someone explain this to me.

It has to do with repetition. Your brain will become more adjusted to the correct form where as if you walk away you might have a different type of release each shot.
It's the same technique when shooting a gun, You got to follow through so you don't jerk the trigger or mess up your zero point aim. Basketball is the same technique you are sniping the basket.
