okay! i know that the reason he wasn’t allowed to finish is because his character is supposed to be somewhat of a “bad boy”, but they could’ve done it in some other way. from what the episode shows, every single person got to finish their song. i don’t care if Mr. Shue liked him as soon as he started to sing, he looked devastated when he said “but i’ve been practicing”. the writers could’ve done something different showing that he’s the “bad boy” type. letting him not finish the song just makes Mr.Shue look like a jerk.

I feel like Jake was a bit of an underdog character and I don't like the direction the writers took him in. He's always gonna be one of my favorites and I'd personally argue that he's one of the better male vocalists. I'm not even sure how I'd describe it, but his voice is just very fluid and consistent.
I would say he was the best Male voice on the show, but they were obsessed with the likes of Kurt and Blaine, so he didn’t fully get to shine. He sounds great here, but listen to his duet of A Thousand Years with Marley, particularly on the course is voice is amazing
