Hua Chenyu is one of the most versatile and unique artist. He is a rock star basically but he can sing so many different styles of music perfectly. Hua chenyu is now the top performer in CHINA. Last sat 50,000 concert tickets fr a night fr Nov 2019, sold out within 3 seconds. 600,000 fans online trying hard to get a ticket. Demand way much higher than supply. Giving many fans heart attack.

You can react to 50 Hua Chenyu performances and not hear the same style twice. He has one of the most amazing head voices in the world and he didn't even use it in this song. Please react to more of his music. You won't regret it. 🥰

@@SingingwithLauren It's difficult to choose a favorite because he is so versatile. He's like Dimash in some ways because you never know what to expect and just when you think you've seen it all, he does something else to surprise you. "Ordinary Path" is a stunning performance and you get to hear some of his beautiful headvoice. "Dad I'm Home" is mostly spoken word and is one of his most emotionally powerful performances (tissues recommended.) "Fake Monk" is very dark and ethereal and will keep you on the edge of your seat. It's a powerful performance piece and the first song I ever heard him sing. I was hooked within 5 seconds and here it is a year later and I still can't get enough of his voice. I'll see if I can find some links for you.

As a voice teacher, I think his song, Child, is the one you’d be most interested in. It shows off his vocal skill better.

In the singer 2018 competition, those singers can sing only 2 original songs. As a composer, Hua Chenyu rearranged this song, and he added the "RAP" part in it. It added the finishing touch and make this song brilliant. He's a well trained professional singer with versatile genres. Please also check out his "Child" in singer 2018 EP5. He was professionally trained but as I understand it was his deliberate choice not to sing in the most “technically correct” way. He chose to sing in ways that he believe that best deliver the emotions and meaning of a song. He is well aware doing so may not have been the best for him in the long run.
He views his voice just as another instrument and often experiment with it...
I am curious to your professional analysis of more of his performances and music if you don't mind. I see there are alot of good recs in other threads already. :)
Yes, he feels that it is more important to deliver his emotions even if he has to sing a way that hurts his voice and he also prefers to perform rock music. It all ties back to his attitude and philosophy about his singing career (he can always be a composer and produces music for others as a career anyway). Most of us like him as a singer and as a unique individual at the same time. It is hard to separate his music from his unique perspective. So if you simply analyze his singing, it may not be sufficient. If you have watched his interviews, you will understand more where he is coming from.

In order to make the song Wayfarer (山海) have a layered feeling on the stage,Hua Chenyu`s rendition of the song is different both in tone and expression. Hua Chenyu made a quick conversion in the high octave and the low octave to make the song richer and more complete. s life. You are pretty accurate in sensing that he used the voices intentionally, but I think there is no rap in this song, the part you mentionted is probably arpeggio.
Yeah i think i meant to "rap esk" because of the very strong rhythm/spoken section towards the end!
