  • Back in November 2020, I was talking here about AMP and the offer from the American company ARES to buy the whole AMP business.
    Well, few months went by and a very surprising occurrence happened, ARES decided to dump AMP and not to proceed with the offer any longer.
    What is the reason that the company that buys other businesses for a cheap price, often dismantles the business and sells them piece by piece, why would they reverse out of the offer and not go ahead with buying AMP.
    Well, as it turned out, AMP was on a huge profit loss of 33% to the year before and ARES decided that the offer of $1.85 per AMP share.

    Retirees who struggle to meet their basic needs are the ones who could not accumulate enough money during their active years to meet their needs. Retirement choices determine a lot of things. My parents both spent same number of years in the civil service, but my mom was investing through a wealth manager, and my dad through the 401k.

      This is true. I'm in my mid 50's now. My wife and I were following this same trajectory. Last two years, I pulled out my money and invested with her wealth manager. Not catching up with her profits over the years, but at least I earn more. I'm making money even before retiring, and my retirement fund has grown way more than it would have with just the 401(k). Haha.

      Agreed, I always emphasize the significance of having an advisor. This has not only help to revamp my portfolio but has also kept me afloat since the covid-19 outbreak to date. I'm only about 10% shy of my first million dollar after subsequent investments.

      Annette Marie Holt is the coach that guides me, you probably might have come across her before I found her through a Newsweek report. She's quite known in her field, look her up.

    I'm in this similar situation. I'm 67 retired and my wife is 63 and working part time - I get a part pension. I have to report her income every fortnight which brings my very part pension to around $80 per fortnight give or take. Important to keep that Concession Card due to the benefits.

    Could you do a video on funeral bonds and which companies would be the best to do a bond through.

      I can talk about the funeral bonds as investment, but legally I cannot give any advice about products, as it is seen as a personal advice, hence a Statement of advice is legally required

    My HDFC LC 50 has been giving me a return of 10.5% XIRR since I changed my investment in the middle of February 24, and this return is increasing every day.
    Government employees will soon have access to a balanced hybrid fund, according to PFRDA.
    Please let me know what you think about the same.

      For my part, I would never touch an annuity. However, drawdown mix plus fixed term would proceed.
      In this approach, you can profit from predictable income and returns on equity.

      Without my CFA *Leah* *Alderman* *Foster* I wouldn't be trading 121 stocks and shares, making additional contributions to my pension, or having my spouse receive a pension from a Vanguard account. I feel more confident about nearing retirement at 54 years old as we listen to more podcasts. With regards

    Hi Katherine, I am looking for ways to optimize my Age Pension entitlements while ensuring legal compliance, I have heard from CZcams channel which is to contribute super to my younger spouse in order to legally hide money from Centrelink Age Pension. I already at Age Pension age while my partner is several years away.
    I just want to found out for Centrelink purposes, will this action to be seen as Gifting? And it’s not benefit to optimize my Age Pension entitlements within a period of 5 years.
    Thanks for your kind advice.

    Enjoy all your videos and may need your services in the future. Is deeming rates applied to super pension accounts regardless of how much income you draw ?

    • @AboutRetirementTV
      @AboutRetirementTV  Před měsícem

      If this is a normal income stream, yes this is correct. Centrelink is not counting your real income, but rather just count it based on deeming rates.

    Most of my clients purchase properties overseas and don’t declare it
    Also nothing stops you renovating your house or having a granny flat at the back which can earn you a nice income
    Think outside the box🎉

    • @AboutRetirementTV
      @AboutRetirementTV  Před měsícem +1

      this is a terrible advice, sorry, but not declaring income earned is illegal, and if you have a granny flat in your back yard, Centrelink will count that as part of your asset and your income. this will not work in Australia.

    They stole $12, 558 from the total of $29,023.80, leaving me with $16,465.80 further whole year. Instead of receiving $1,116.30 fortnightly, it has been reduced to $643.80, losing $482.50. This is because of investing money, which would have helped me in a comfortable living and also be able to have HEALTH INSURANCE.
    The Labor government is only interested in giving millions of dollars to aborigines Taken from average Australian taxpayers. They show little care for their own kind.
