- This is a Croatian march song first used by Ustaše. It was written after the battle for Kupres in the summer of 1942.
The Black Legion fought the attack of the Montenegrin Chetniks of Pavle Đurišić and the Partisans of Tito. The name refers to the time between dawn and daylight when the Black Legion (Crna Legija) surprised both forces with a counterattack that drove them out of Kupres and its surroundings.
Francetić (In the picture, left side) fell in battle across the Drina River (as depicted in the song), while Boban disappeared in 1945. Many thought he was murdered by guerrillas, while some versions suggest he joined the Crusaders (guerrillas (post-war Croatians determined to expel the guerrillas and rebuild the NDH), or fled to the US, joining the US. And falling into battle against the Communists in the Korean War
The song's lyrical origins are unclear, but according to some claims it was written by an anonymous poet from Herzegovina. However, other sources claim that its authors were a small group of Ustaše de Jure Francetić and Rafael Bobanque soldiers.

Krizar on Croatian is Križar probably, means Crusader, a Križ is a Cross, and he was possibly killed by yugoslavs if he served the NDH, independent state of Croatia (Croatian name Nezavisna Država Hrvatska), even if he was conscript, or just civil who tried to flee in 1945, or a Ustaša (croatian branch of nazis, more extremely hateful toward serbs). They were all treated the same and killed on mass after the war, and yugoslav authorities hid it. they also forced german and italian minorities out of the country, and put all nations other than serbia itself on a second rate. many croats after the war, and many Ustaše fled to Argentina with the rat trails that also led many Nazis to find a new home.
