By Jingo, I think he's got it!!
I was in a band once where our lead vocal was friends with Paul. One night Paul came in and our singer introduces us and asked if i minded if he played my Les Paul for a couple of songs. Knock your self out. Paul taught my guitar things i had no clue it could learn. It outta be against the law how well that man can play. my guitar aint been the same since. hahaha
I miss Paul Yandell. Rest in Peace!🎸🎶
I know a lot of arrangement directly from Chet's version which I learned to play a long, long time ago but Paul Yandell's version here is my favorite of them all!
I have his workbook and CD. I've learned several of his tunes. They never let me down to raise my spirits when I play them. Fun to play and they make me happy to hear them.
Masterful command! A simple delight to the ears! Thanks for sharing!
Very easy to see why Chet had him accompany him for all those years !!!
Such a pleasure to have these great videos of a Certified Guitar master to enjoy and learn from!
The sound is so clean really beautiful
The masters partner.
A great guitarist. I sure enjoyed him at CAAS over the years. He is missed.
Came here from an instrumental version of Just A Little While to Stay Here by the LeFevres with Eva Mae on piano. It made an interesting transition.
Well done!
Well, like Mr. Guitar himself said..."Paul can play anything I can"...! A great guitarist and love listening to him..
Thank you for this. I have the tabs for this and was having trouble transitioning from the C to the B+7 and I just copied and I'm getting the hang of it.
Nice work Paul..I've watched you for years..just behind Chet's pickin' hand..great accompaniment and wonderful as a single.
.
A masterful performance!
wow.... just wow.
Great guitarist,underestimated for many years.
underrated he was a great guitarist
Paul was not really underrated by people who knew him. He just wasn't that well known. Players admired his mastery.
That is some killer playing! Just think he did most, if not all the lead guitar work on the Louvin Brothers sessions. Like Chet, Hank Garland, and Jerry Reed, Paul is a true master
You can believe me or not,I also thot Paul played on Louvin records Tragic songs of life listed Paul and a weird last name as
accompnist,I went to Manchester Tennessee and auditioned for Charlie Louvin in 2004.Charlie said ALL Louvin records EXCEPT a cpl live ones.
ARE CHET ATKINS!. WHO KNEW....Charlie Louvin did.
Guitar Player's Guitar Player. Humble and brilliant.
brilliant thx for the share
I wish I could have been a neighbor to the man, maybe his window would have been left open once in awhile so I could just hear him practice
I wholeheartedly agree!!! Can you imagine having him or Chet as a neighbor. I would have never gotten anything done, just been listening to the pickin".
Big time Chet Atkins lick at 1:29
Two people voted thumbs down and proves what my grandma said when she said that it takes all kinds of people to make up the world.
I knew Paul was good but, Oh My.
Paul was a CGP before Chet began anointing them 👌🏻🕶✌🏻
What is that guitar please. It's lovely
Very nice.....they don't write em like that anymore. Steve Howe is worth a listen though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I reckon he practiced a bit to make this one so sweet---great job as was his custom
Looks like a Gibson guitar but what kind of amp is Paul using to get such a perfect finger picking sound just like Chet? I play some Chet songs but could never capture that perfect blend of melody and bass. Whe I get the high strings treble enough the bass strings sound like I am hitting them with a board. If I get the bass strings sounding right the melody sound bassy and muddy. Sometimes computer enhanced equalizing helps but never quite what I want. Yandell is fantastic. Love you man.
真赤な封筒
He could play anything Chet could play but he didn't syncopate like Chet or have his fluidity.
A great man up there with Chet
