We are simply stacking up (in 3rds) all seven notes of a given scale or mode.
The first mode is: C LYDIAN: C Maj7 (9 #11 13)
The second mode is: C DORIAN: C min7 (9 11 13)
The third mode is: C MIXOLYDIAN #4 which is also called LYDIAN-DOMINANT: C7 (9 #11 13)

Hi Bruno, it sounded like we were entering the Twilight zone when you added the f sharp to the Lydian dominant arpeggio.
Due a fingertip injury, I think I will be having guitarless days for a week, good excuse to get some modal vamps written out to try out the arps.

Aidan Gribbin I would probably think of those arpeggios as either technical and/or ear-training exercises... it's a bit much to load all 7 notes of a scale on a given chord ;-)
