I also have to say that I Love that you guys at your garden center can answer questions or help people with knowledge.... I feel where I live its just a job for them.. No one can help or answer a question as they really have no interest or know anything about plants or soil... Its just a paycheck for them!!! .. Or there is a language barrier issue...

I really like the way you intersperse a variety of fencing material with live plant fencing and then back to fencing material. It's so much more visually appealing than a solid fence or a solid hedge. Can you talk about how/where to determine how to segment off an area to make an outdoor "room"?

I have a large planter built into my chicken coop and I have a native pine and will add three box that I plant to cut in three different size box shapes so I can use it in the winter as a Christmas display. Bulbs in the spring, white impatiens in the summer. I think....

I will definitely be searching for these Sprinter Boxwoods. When I moved to our house 15 years ago, there were hedges of boxwoods in the front beds. After a hurricane came through last year, I let the trimming go and they grew so tall, got woody, like you said and I've been trying to cut them back.. Now I don't want them at all, but the smaller sprinter boxwood might be just the ticket. I would be able to see out of our windows with a low growing hedge. Your videos are so inspiring for my meager gardening efforts. Thanks!

I just ordered 9 of these in 1 gallon size from a nursery in Georgia "now sold out." I was having a hard time finding these in San Diego where I live. I was most interested in this variety because they seem to be ok with full shade which mine will get get in the winter months, but will also get full sun in the summer. I will do a review later for SoCal people who might be interested. Zone 10a here, lowest temp in past 5 yrs is 31 :)

The hedge already looks lovely. Measuring from the house is what I did when I dug a new bed on the side of my house 2 years ago. Planted hostas but they turned out to be to large a variety, so will be giving them away next spring and moving the Golden Tiara from the front yard to that spot. Have several varieties with brighter variegation I'm considering for my front yard. Love all the plants Laura and Aaron have been planting. Love it when I see a new Garden Answer video!!!

It would be really helpful to those of us on tighter budgets to be able to know what some of these projects might entail. We got the same Sprinter Boxwoods at Home Depot for $22 per shrub. Then factor in BioTone root starter ($12 per bag) some compost or soil conditioner if needed ($15 per bag) and mulch on top. So not real expensive but it adds up depending on how many.

I planted a lot of hydrangeas this year because I was inspired by your channel. My Quick Fire and Gatsby Star are coloring up so pretty this fall. I think Laura mentioned in one of the fall tour videos that she is going to be planting a hedge or row of hydrangeas. I hope you guys will film that when you put them in. I'm hoping to plant a hedge of hydrangeas myself but am not sure how far to space them. Best wishes for your beautiful home and family. Thank you for the effort you both put into your videos. First of all let me start by saying how much I love your videos and beautiful landscape ideas. Great job, y’all!!! This video came just at the right moment. We want a fast growing boxwood that doesn’t take up too much room in depth; we don’t want it to spill over into our neighbor’s yard. So, do we plant it 4’ from property line, or 2’? You also mentioned it does well to zone 8. We are in zone 9, however, these boxwood will be fully shaded beneath oak trees, all the time. So perhaps they will be okay....maybe?

hello! Thank you for all your videos. I learn a lot from it. All your plants and trees and landscaping are gorgeous!
I think it’s in this video where one of your tree broke off a big branch. I noticed right away that the root flare is all covered. I have heard that we are not supposed to cover those root flare cause the roots need to breathe and if you cover them, it will cause a lot of problems. 🙂

Laura, First of all I want to thank you and your husband for doing these videos. Secondly, I am trying to find the Sprinter Boxwood know one seems to have it in my area, Tigard, Oregon? Can you please tell me where you found it?
