I was the ONLY PERSON on this driving range that had the 36 hitting areas (pretty big driving range) separated only by blocks on the ground. No walled partitions. I decided to start hitting from the very last spot on the right. This guy shows up and sets up in the space right beside mine (space invader). I gathered my stuff up and moved for fear he might be mentally deranged
Im the machine gun guy. Its almost as if i think you get more points by playing as fast as possible. I lack in the patience department. I want to hurry up and hit it so i can see my good shot. Lol
After playing golf for almost 50 year I recognise everyone of these characters and have met quite a few of them. Doing the pinball wizard was talented, lol. All the best from Glasgow

When he stepped up to the tee I expected a 300+ drive. He shanked it at a 90 degree angle and it bounced off the wall of the building close by. His friends began to laugh and razz him mercilessly and his serious expression never flinched, lol
Don't forget the four mates warming up before a game who have to shout to each other "Ay,ay sithee did tha see that'un,eh!?". Very entertaining and well observed Jak!

The feedback information from each shot is extremely useful and my practice is defined by time and not the number of balls. I love it 🏌️♂️👍🏻
You did forget one type though. Probably more common in city ranges. Groups of lads, normally student age, non golfers mainly, trying to Happy Gilmore the s**t out of an old driver and failing miserably! I do enjoy casually out-driving those guys with a smooth 8 iron 😂

Let's not forget the guy that shows up to the driving range with a bag full of clubs, selects the stall right next to yours (you both are the only two people there) does stretches and calisthenics for 30 minutes, shanks three balls with a 4-iron, then leaves talking on his cell phone.

and one more question, how hard is it for a PGA Professional golfer to go to PGA TOUR? I've asked my coach once if he's playing tournament now and he says only coaching now. In amateurs' eyes, all professional golfers are so good, so what's the difference between coaches and PGA Tour golfers?
The difference is massive mate, for pro's like myself who turned off of the handicap of 1, i'm effectively 7 shots behind those off of +6 before I even tee it up!
just an fyi on this is use to caddy at a club where i lived. the head pro qualified for the us open by coming in third in the pga pros tournament. he came in pretty much last place. by a good margin
The biggest difference is: 1) the quality of tour players bad shots is WAY better, 2) the ability to recover from difficult lies and situations, 3) putting and 4) perhaps the biggest difference is the mental toughness.
These stereotype videos always have the "All Gear but No Idea" guy....and they always leave out the "No Gear Gun", who rocks up, using crappy equipment they look like they bought for $20 off e-bay, dressed like they just stopped off at the range on their way to a cheap pub or the beach and then proceed to smash every ball like a pro.

It's not a type of driving range person since technically they're just watching not hitting but the range near my house it's guaranteed there's at least 1 or 2 of these angry moms/dads trying to live out their failed dreams as a good golfer critiquing/yelling at their 7-10 year old kid every shot that's not perfect even though they are hitting the ball better than 80% of the people there already at that age

I'm the guy that comes walking in with my Mizuno blades and everybody laughs because I'm 40 pounds overweight and wearing basketball shorts and a t-shirt then I start hitting my 20 degree hybrid further than their driver and they move to the end of the bay and start whispering and pointing lmao... I've hustled many of people for 1,000s of dollars too
