- Hey guys and gals!
As you know, I've been looking for the perfect mid-boost for my #lincolnbrewster tribute #strat
Wel... I think i found it! The #emg SPC (Strat Presence Control) is an amazing sounding mid-boost that fattens up the tone of your guitar without being too noisy, muddy, and taking away from the magic tone you can only get from a strat. This is a fantastic system and I would recommend this to anyone looking to get a nice and fat tone from you single-coil equipped strat!
Check out the SPC here:

For those of you who are curious about my pickups they are Dimarzio Area 5 (Neck and Middle) and an Area 61 in the Bridge. I am running my guitar through my Line 6 Pod Go.
it's great to see somebody putting out a demo video that can actually play. Great chops man!
Can you post a schematic including the EMG SPC and the wiring you described in the GFS mid-boost video. I just didn't quite understand what you said, but I can absolutely interpret a wiring diagram.
which on was easier to install? this or the GFS Clapton?
strings? 9's or 10's? I have SPC ordered. I can't wait to get it.
9-42
The EMG SPC sounds like a winner.
does the EMG SPC require a battery?
@@Chad_Fuckhammer yes it does. You could always put it into a pedal enclosure if you wanted
@@pastorkev777 that's ok. i have a battery compartment. i was actually asking in reference to my project bass. looks like the emg bass expander is the one i need specifically
@@Chad_Fuckhammer for bass that would be a better bet. Yet if I wanted an active preamp in a bass I prefer bass, mid, treble preamps.
@@pastorkev777 like which one? this is not really my area of expertise
Can you dial a lincoln brewster tone on a pod go but just using a regular pick up on a strat or squier ?
My first Lincoln Brewster video was made before I ever used a mid boost in my guitar. The Dimarzio pickups do have a fairly unique tone but any low-ish output strat pickup will get you there. You mentioned squier...I used to have two stock Classic Vibe 50's strats and they nailed the Lincoln Brewster tone running through my Pod X3
@@dhmusic8461 wow sounds so convincing brother. thank you for your help😊🤗 i am only using a very cheap squier strat.
@@jazzylei143 theres not thing wrong with that at al
I may have to try the EMG booster, they have a couple of them and they seem pretty easy to install too
Could've done without the clipping
Crap demo of a seemingly good accessory.
Sorry you feel that way...I'm utterly distraught
@@dhmusic8461 No problem, but shorter intervals of playing and a much cleaner starting sound would do a lot of good in showcasing what the SPC actually sounds like. Just my opinion.
@@SolidBody55 noted
@@SolidBody55 went to your channel looking for a better demo since you’re apparently an expert but couldn’t find one….
This is the second review that's put me off buying.
A Clapton Strat or a few pedals achieves this , more and better.
My conclusion is it's a gimmick. It's NOTHING like even an average humbucker.
Tones horrible. Sorry. It would drive my bandmates insanitary fucking about with this all night.
Sounds better with SPC off.
