@@LuciferDSatan-vn8gl 311 have released twelve studio albums, two live albums, four compilation albums, four EPs and four DVDs. After a series of independent releases, 311 was signed to Capricorn Records in 1992 and released the albums Music (1993) and Grassroots (1994) to moderate success. They achieved greater success with their 1995 triple platinum[2] self-titled album, which reached number 12 on the Billboard 200 on the strength of the singles"Down" and "All Mixed Up", the former of which topped the Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks in 1996.[3] The band's next three albums-Transistor (1997), Soundsystem(1999) and From Chaos (2001)-were also successful, with the first going platinum and the last two going gold.[2] Their 2004 compilation album Greatest Hits '93-'03 was also certified gold. The band's most recent studio album is 2017's Mosaic. As of 2011, 311 has sold over 8.5 million records in the United States.[4]
LMAO Thanks...but....that's kind of why I mentioned in my comment above: "Strong since the self title." TRANSLATION: Been an avid fan of almost everything 311 has made since the self title album "311" release in 1995. Also discovered their albums "Music" and "Grassroots" the initial year I discovered them. lol. Sorry thought that was iterated.
Amazing video. That song always takes me back to 99 which is awesome. This take sounds ready to lay down. See you in Knoxville soon for about my 20th show.
1999 was a great year for music in general, in my opinion, and that includes 311. Soundsystem era had all their influences (rock, reggae, funk, rap/hip-hop) blended into one readily accessible sound. I love the tone of the vocals, guitar, bass, drums, turntables. Heck I even love the fashion/clothes/haircuts the band wore at the time. It was peak 311. They have never topped this era in my eyes, although I still love them and they've made great songs and albums since.
After seeing this show on tour in 99 in Denver at Ogden Theater, they were interviewed on a radio station and a girl called in and asked "Why do you guy keep saying "Drummer in denial"?" Fucking awesome.
I like this better than the recorded version. In a jam session like this I can see why they made it the single of the album. It just has a better feel jamming out.
The message, the music styles, the dancing, the hard core jumping at the end(for me at least), the bass slapping, plus I personally like the meaning of the song.... :)
Nick still sounds great BUT, when he got his tonsils taken out around 2004 i believe it made a noticeable difference in his voice. It lost a little bit of that rasp and grit
Wait, he did? That explains a lot. I think their best years were 93-2003, all straight gold with those seven albums. Don't Tread On Me was still pretty good, but ever since they hired Bob Rock to "rebrand their sound" things have been going the wrong way. Great songs here and there still, but they lost some of the magic. Still play great shows tho.
90s as fuck but man do I wish I could go back to these days....Long live 311!!
There's more talent in that one room than the entirety of modern MTV.
This is why you should always save your old tapes!
Yes, totally!
@eric8542005 hopefully you've enjoyed the new music they've made also
@eric8542005 Yup. Wait until you hear what comes out on their next album...soon...very soon
Real talk
@@rounds20012a ....a compete remake of the previous 4 albums.
