I’ve been a custom cabinet maker for 20 years I just want to give you some constructive advice. We normally would not make doors that big without a center rail. Especially in a more humid environment they might warp. The force can actually rip the door apart and I’ve seen that inside a house climate controlled. A lot times they will twist and won’t close right.
yep i work at a cabinet shop and we dont do any doors over 42". they warp so bad. my parents have some cabs down in Kansas that are so warped when they close them the top is flush and the bottom has an inch gap, not even exaggerating
I used to work at a custom furniture fabrication shop. We mostly did built ins like this peice here. Your work is on par with what we put out for thousands of dollars. Good job
I love that you did it all yourself. So many DIYers will tell you you can do it yourself but they get their partners to do most of the work. It's fine to get the hardware store to cut the wood for you but to get your spouse to do it all while saying "I made it" is not really true.
Brad nails can bend left or right but not up and down. Make sure to orient the nailer sideways as you move along, otherwise a nail can shoot through the finished piece.
When you originally stood in the cupboard (before paint), it gave me Barbie box vibes and ngl, I'm a little disappointed it wasn't pink 😂😂 But amazing job!
Am really impressed to see a lady do wood cabinets, how did you learn the skill through your Dad, or you went to school, the cabinets are beautiful great job, 👍
I recommend some floating center shelves that match the counter wood. The doors look massive, I suggest the professionals advice in other comments. Perhaps you can brace the back of the doors to prevent warp. The whole project looks phenomenal for a DIYer! What are the jigs you are using? Do you recommend them?
Thank you! I’m definitely going to be adding a center brace on these. Not just to help prevent warping but also for looks. I use Kreg pocket hole jig and it’s amazing. I had the cheap version but this one makes it so much faster without having to clamp anything down to a table each time. amzn.to/3r6DLiG
Been putting off a project like this for years. Just keep making due with the makeshift shelves I made with old doors from a renovation and triangle braces made with scrap 2x4’s. Gets the job done but looks terrible.
I totally understand! It took a lot for me to stop all my other projects to focus on getting this space presentable. Glad I did….but it took me almost 4 months to completely redo the whole space 🙈 (floors, walls, cabinets, etc.)
Again AMAZING! You'll need a ladder to get to those shelves once you're done on top. Beautiful on the outside and pretty on the inside with those drawer liners. You give me such inspiration. Thank you for your videos!!! ❤❤❤. Happy Holidays from KCMO!
I really love the handmade countertop. Too bad you didn’t raise the cabinets above to show off this massive countertop that would be such an epic workspace!
These are Amazing. Especially for a your first time making cabinets. You might not be a “professional cabinetmaker“ but they look pretty darn good to me. If they do warp then you know what to do to fix them. 😂😂 Because you got free advice from the “Experts“. ♥️♥️
Absolutely gorgeous! Loved everything about it! 1 Question: Why not take the cabinets to the roof? Or go slightly lower so your hand can actually fit between the ceiling and cabinet so you can clean?

Agreed... those drawers are going to be a big disappointment too.

Who gives a shit what you think😂😂 She has the skills to build another one if they break.
Sounds like solid advise
I’m interested in a similar build, so I greatly appreciate the constructive criticism/advice!

Absolutely Beautiful job . My place next week end .
Great job!

Looks great! As a former cabinet-maker I'd avoid a single door that large if you can get away with two instead.
Very very good! DIY makes bespoke affordable. Well done!
Thank you!
You are very creative. I love it and thanks for sharing.
Loove it!! That color is everything. Great job! I wish I was handy like that 😂 i just have to ask hubby to build things for me
Where is the Library style ladder, for when you have special items on the upcoming upper shelves?
Right?! I need to make that next 😂
LOVE that color!!!
Thank you so much!
what colour is it?@@studio_adash

Those look good enough to go in the kitchen
Thank you!
Nice work.
If you plan on building more stuff consider building a folding work table.
Working from the ground sucks.
That’s a good idea! And i totally agree
I saw ome who built a rolling one that folds up on a bracket om the wall.
Great Job. Looks Amazing!
Guaaaaauuu que buen y hermoso resultado felicitaciones💯💚🥂👏

Your next video, scare your hubby or guests hiding in the cabinet 😅
Yes !
A book fell and broke my toe. I have only my shelf to blame.❤

Use 16 gauge nails instead. Also use magnets to keep those big doors closed. that will with the warp.
Thanks! I’m going to add some center bracing in it
Omg! You are incredible!
Thank you so much!!
Nice job!
Thank you!
They look nice..good job
You are unbelievable kudos
gorgeous!!!

Wow!! Gorgeous❤❤❤❤
You are amazing!
Love the colour
Amazing work! What color green was that? And where did you buy it!!!!
Thank you! It’s called Pewter by Sherwin Williams
Doubles as a spacious coffin for you
Wish I had a garage with that amount of height.
It’s a really nice benefit!
Priceless
Everybody’s so creative.
I really love the handmade countertop. Too bad you didn’t raise the cabinets above to show off this massive countertop that would be such an epic workspace!
I needed more storage than actual workspace.
Build a ladder for it. Like the ones in libraries 😅
I love them. They are beautiful.
Beautiful
Thank you!
One question how do you get up so high in the cabinets haha
You go girl!!!
Thank you!
Awesome!
Damn, it looks better than my kitchen hahaha
Nice job
I was wondering what you were doing with that glue bottle in the thumbnail 😅
Your skills!!
I love it❤
Thank you! So glad you love it
now you need to make 4m high ladder to get to the top shelves
It's a lot of storage but you can't acess the shelves without a ladder. They look nice but seem inconvenient.
U did good
Thank you!
What do you plan on storing in those big AF bad boys? Your pet giraffe 🦒
Now start building a ladder to reach the high shelves. 😁
Can you come to my house and build that? I love it! ❤
Massive!! Thank you for sharing. How much this cost you?
You need a ladder to get into thst top drawer.
I seriously do! It’s so tall!
Beautiful- but the pills look to small for the massive doors
I agree 100%. But I had already bought them and was too cheap to change them 🙈
@@studio_adash Not a big deal if you want to change them in the future at least. Big project, looks good. 👍
Fire🔥
Very nice
Waaaaoooowww that looks so stunning
Thank you!
