    Be nice to see you push new sight back in. like to see how that works.

    Nearly every part of the video where you are actually doing something with the tool, it's filmed at a wide angle where the tool is barely visible, then there are random "cinematic" cuts to closeups of the tool.

    Kudos for doing a 1911 slide and not only a glock. Putting in the new sights should be shown too. I have the Wheeler and it appears identical to this one. I've already done a Glock and now doing an XD9 Sub Compact. XD's are supposed to be difficult sometimes so I'm pre-soaking in penetrating oil.

    Nice little sight pusher. I have one that was cheaper and requires a bench vise to hold it down while i crank it to move the sight. Might think about upgrading. Thanks for the review and keep up the good work.

    Tried it on my M&P 9mm. Couldn't budge front or rear sights with it. S&W sights go in right to left so it wasn't the problem. Ended up using an amco bronze drift. By the time I set that thing up I could have mounted or adjusted 5 new sights with a drift. Don't waste the money.

    I bought the wiregear sight pusher tool recently. I tried using it yesterday. I used some heavy gaffers tape on the Beretta 92 slide to keep from marring it. I think I got the rear sight to move slightly. But, I am having trouble with right side of slide lifting up and not staying square or flat on the surface of tool. So pusher ends up pushing sight at a slight angle probably making it more difficult to remove.

    Yeah, I’d like to see sight install, not removal. And on a model other than a Glock, which we all know is smooth and easy and makes even the cheapest pusher look good. So this video really doesn’t show me much of anything. But thanks for making it.

      I own this pusher. It's amazing. The build quality and tolerences are really impressive. I swapped both the front & rear on my S&W Bodyguard 380 with it. My brother used it on both his HK USP and M&P. Works on just about any pistol.

    Is this thing able to do a front sight on a 1911? Doesn't look like the cutout in the bottom frame is long enough for the sight to reach the pusher.

    Bought a nice Lyman pusher recently and it was well worth the cash.

    Does it work on the front sights also?

    A low tolerance is a sloppy one. A tight tolerance is what I believe you meant.

    • @djmcwill1010
      @djmcwill1010 Před 2 lety

      Think of: lower tolerance = lower variance.
      Tolerance establishes the upper/lower bounds for a process.
      Want "tight?" Then you want a low tolerance.

      @@djmcwill1010 Low tolerance doesn't equal low variance.

    • @fr8cture
      @fr8cture Před 2 lety +1

      @@djmcwill1010 you got that backwards. A high tolerance is a tight tolerance like 1/64" vs 1/32" which is a looser tolerance.

      High, more decimal places. Speaking as a machinist, where a tenth is .0001" not .1"

    Im looking at this from an engineering perspective. The gun slide and sight assembly is off to one side. When you start pushing the sight, its going to want to naturally try to twist the slide. Are the clamp pieces made of metal and is there something to prevent marring in case you happen to have a sight that is stuck? I would think this setup would want to mar the finish of your slide or at least risk it. It just seems to me that a push in the center of the tool instead of on the one side would be better. Your thoughts?

      It does actually work, but no where near as easy as it looks on videos. Just replaced sights on a Springfield XD45c and a Springfield XD9sc. The XD45, with some gloves and serious arm strength, worked. The XD9sc I had to resort to a hammer, using the pusher block like some people would use a punch, then crank the wheel, then hammer again. Wasn't elegant, but it did eventually work. Sliding the new sights were significantly easier. Did not damage the firearm, did chip the finish on the pusher tool but oh well.

      I use the wheeler version (not this chinese Knockoff ..) and it works just fine. I do it on 1911’s and CZ’s a few times a year.

    @erice4611 Před 3 lety

    Looks like a Wheeler pusher knockoff, if all you are doing are Glocks get the MGW309 pusher its the VERY best for Glocks and super easy to use and built like a tank and costs the same!
